If you read this, it's some years later, "Danny Boy" and "Broadsword" are from "Where Eagles Dare".

Love love love this! -Kat

This comment is cracking me up 😂😂 -Kat

I hadn’t watched this episode since it was first on but watching it again sort of changed my mind. The episode itself is good, but I didn’t and still don’t like the “upgraded” Daleks. Matt, Karen and the supporting cast are great, and maybe younger folk and newbies will like bright yellow and blue Daleks are the future, can’t wait for next week Gals. :)

WhoIamisme

Someone asked Moffat at a convention once if this story was happening at the same time as The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances with Nine, Rose and Jack. He replied "Hmmmm, that would be cool wouldn't it?"

Stuart McConnell

Well, I see one person saying a bit too much. Hopefully it won't get any worse.

Chris Scoullar

I am calling it right now....wheezing.......

People seem really at ease with passing along information and giving opinions on things to come. Must just be me, I can never figure out why someone would do that? I guess this comment section is not for Paula to come visit, that is kind of sad.

o

absolutely love this episode love Churchill. but my one pet peeve with this episode is when the Doctor leaves to face the Daleks the TARDIS blows winds into their faces, the smoke doesn't blow back too!!

3. I can’t count

Steven morgan

4. I think the reason this episode isn’t rated well. Is because the Daleks changed, whovians like who because it is a show that will by its very nature always be different. But whovians always hate it when they face change. I call it the whovian paradox

Steven morgan

2. I think the scene where he recognises the Daleks and thinks they’re evil is so important for fans who were getting used to Matt Smith as by making the whole cast doubt him and you know he’s right means you get behind him more it’s a brilliant bit of t. V manipulation

Steven morgan

1 Paula’s reaction to Amy not knowing about the Daleks was so funny

Steven morgan

Right where to start so much to say

Steven morgan

I think the low ratings on this episode are due to the "new paradigm" Bakelight Daleks, which did not go over well with the fandom at the time. Also, given the whole of Series 5, I think this episode does end up in the bottom half. But that's more a compliment on Series 5 than a criticism of this episode.

Firefly24601

This is a fun episode. It has problems, of course, and it's certainly on the lower end of this very strong season. I was never fond of the disarming of Bracewell. Love as a solution is handled better in other episodes. I am, however, one of the few who actually liked the hunchback colorful daleks, but i can also see why people disliked them. They are very much like toys. A cool thing is that Victory is kind of a remake of the completely missing second Doctor story Power of the Daleks from 1966.

Opti_Frog

Thank you for adding the "watch later" option to this video so it can be downloaded. Don't forget to do it to this weeks TNG and the previous Who's. I think it's about time the two of you be considered "essential" and are able to get back together in the "studio". :-)

Bruce Bromley

Same, Will! The next one is definitely one for the books.... and the ending !!! ;x

Brandon Scott

Also, Paula and Katrina, I'm loving the content, I'm so appreciative that you are pressing on even through this separation. You guys are amazing and I can't wait for the next Doctor Who ep!

Brandon Scott

Katrina is ABSOLUTLY right! This season above maybe all the others is in particular danger of SERIOUS spoilers.

Brandon Scott

Just a thought, but instead of having Paula count down to 'start' -- because there seems be a 1-3 second lag before Katrina hears that word -- set an alarm on both your phones to go off at the same time. Modern phones synchronize against a network time service, and your phones are probably accurate within a sub-second of each other. (Obviously, test this first.) If Katrina is watching local video but hearing streaming audio, then using a starter that same the same lag relative to both of you might remove a good portion of Katrina's lag.

K-B-O!

I was surprised they didn't mention it.

John

Did anyone else notice a nod to Data with the type of brain Bracewell had been built with

Colin 3of5

good I hated all of RTD era stuff. Well everything but the actors . The scripts that RTD wrote were the worst.

Scott Archibald

Calling the Doctor an asshole when he's correct about what he's doing is ...a little insensitive.

Scott Archibald

And I'm just here thinking, did I just hear Paula suggest things would have been just fine if the Doctor had butted out and we just lived happily ever after with the Daleks. That's some wibbley levels of wobbley.

John

And thus begins Moffat's systematic erasing of the RTD era, bit by bit. Series 4 finale? Woops! Fell into the crack.

Scribbles

I enjoyed that episode also. I think the main reason why hardcore Whovians were not a fan was because the new Daleks were so colourful, with some calling them power ranger Daleks at the time. You might notice they are quite a bit taller as well, the reason being is that Amy Pond is super tall, and her towering over the usual size did not make them look so menacing. I feel the Jammy Dodger scene was a call back to the old school Fourth Doctor that did similar with Gummy Bears he used to carry around often.

Malcolm Wolf

I think the professor is the reason this episode works as well as it does. The dalek stuff is kind of interesting too, but the professor is the heart of the episode. And again, Amy showed us her value as a companion. (Also, I loved the way Amy's theme started playing as soon as she started talking to the professor about him fancying someone.) If I had to guess why this episode tends to be rated a little low, it might be because there isn't much of a plot. The stuff with the daleks feels more like a setup for a future plot. The character stuff is obviously great, but the plot is somewhat lacking.

Jeff Seely

I'm glad you liked the Doctor more in this one, Paula. I think it's a bit more representative of his Doctor in general than the last one (which I had forgotten about, having seen it no more than twice!). Hope you enjoy the next one as it's kind of a fan favourite. :)
