I'm trying to judge this episode on its own, but it's hard not to let part 2 color my opinion. I'm tentatively giving this a B, because it's an interesting setup, and it's fun watching Brent Spiner emote. With that said, the stupidity of them sending the entire command crew down to planet and leaving the freakin' doctor in charge of the Enterprise in a time of crisis really tempts me to drop it a letter grade... and I may yet go back and do that after I ponder for a while.
