2025-06-19 23:31:59 +0000 UTCIt only gets worst.... remember how the trope gets beaten to death even more under the command of Insaneway

2025-06-18 20:59:49 +0000 UTCBetter than Aquiel which had not only the writers, but the director on top of the meat and potatoes

2025-06-18 20:58:37 +0000 UTCWhat we have here a is a low-B, in that it's everything surrounding the main plot that does the heavy lifting. Sisko having to manage the security concerns over whose in charge, how Odo would typically use Quark to enhance security on the station (Let him know that we know he knows), and how Kira still has not warmed up fully to Bashir's smug Starfleet arrogance. What also keeps this from getting a lower grade than a B from me is because I know what's coming on another show that basically makes this episode look like Citizen Kane. And in regard to Alexander Siddig's performance, here is a direct quote he gave regarding what he considers to be his biggest failure: "It was right at the beginning [of the series run], you had to just do it in front of everybody you didn't know, and I had appallingly poor notice with the script. I was given it the day before. You need to prepare for that sort of thing."

2025-06-18 20:57:47 +0000 UTCSiddig's slow-motion-while-also-on-cadence voice acting absolutely devastates this episode beyond all repair. S. Would recommend.

2025-06-18 20:47:04 +0000 UTCA for a few character scenes, but C seems justified for the story and its execution, as well as the portrayal of the villain by Bashir.

2025-06-18 20:04:06 +0000 UTCI gave it a B. It's a silly but fun little episode and the guy who plays the doctor gets to ham it up a little. I just don't understand some of the reaction to this one here from everyone. Just look at the whiteboard segment of this video: "mystery", " twist", "you got me" and somehow "no good"? Must every moment of ST be prissy, overly mannered people drinking tea while listening to classical music?

2025-06-18 19:57:27 +0000 UTCI agree. The laughable "evil" voice was like B movie material.

2025-06-18 19:30:37 +0000 UTCS tier for me. One of the best Dr. Bashir episodes ever.

2025-06-18 18:50:06 +0000 UTCC-Tier. It's got the makings of a good episode, but it falls flat due to just a few of those pieces not hitting. Bashir's "evil" voice being comically bad plus not having given us any time to sit with the mystery and actually have some suspects for who might have been the one that got body snatched just ruins what should have been a pretty fun "killer among us" type story.

2025-06-18 18:45:05 +0000 UTCThis is the second bump in the road for Season One DS9. This one had the meat and potatoes to be a good episode, but it just fell flat in its execution.

2025-06-18 17:40:17 +0000 UTCSiddig's "evil voice" is comically bad, E-tier acting. It reminds me of Troll 2's Creedence Leonore Gielgud. And "random crew member goes rogue" (but no one knows!!!!) has been done a million times before. Still, not an unwatchable hour of Star Trek and I liked the medical mystery: C.

2025-06-18 17:37:18 +0000 UTCFunny story... the lady alien guest star was at a Cleveland Star Trek convention about 20 years ago. This was apparently a time before they charged for photos for lesser stars. My wife and I paid $50 for an autograph from Michael Dorn, but she didn't charge for a photo with my wife and I. She... ummm... told us we were a cute couple and playfully asked if she could go back to our hotel room with us. Umm. Pretty sure my wife said "Sure." But we just got a photo with her with a big smile. She was really tall.
