Andor is the best series if you loved Rogue One and the original trilogy, it gets the tone of the Empire perfectly. I’d love to see what happens to Syril and Dedra after ANH.. I may revisit that comment after Andor ends.

It's great storytelling and as a bonus shines a completely new light on those stories we already knew.

2025-05-05 03:30:47 +0000 UTCI’m so glad “Andor” shows the Empire as frightening. They’ve really never looked like that before. It helps to right what I feel is one of the greatest wrongs of Star Wars: the idea that everyone, specifically Anakin Skywalker, is redeemable. I can never accept this. Anyone who murders innocent people, including children, murders his own wife, betrays and murders his peers…yeah, there’s no redemption for a guy like that. I think fans, in their hero worshipping of Star Wars, have forgotten that the bad guys are REALLY bad. Makes me wonder if this has something to do with how willing we are these days to ignore unethical and illegal choices of our political leaders, especially those that many seem 100% devoted to.

They have competent people like Dedra Meero and Major Partagaz, they're everywhere and they're relentless. Mon Mothma drinking and dancing at the wedding is her catharsis. She's been holding in her emotions about resisting the Empire, financing the rebellion, selling her daughter off to a thug and realizing her childhood friend needs to die. Everything is crashing in around her and she needs a release.

I think they are letting the audience see the new Organa so that they can return to him in the next two trilogies as the story unfolds. My guess is 7-9 is Gorman and then 10-12 is the aftermath leading to Rogue One.

2025-05-04 18:48:47 +0000 UTCI really love how well they're maintaining the tension on this show. Like, anyone who has seen Rogue One know how things end but the moment-to-moment twists and turns the show takes still make me tense and concerned that things go right.
