There's a scene in the Blu-Ray edition where they forgot to re-add the original effects during the remaster. The effect was hiding Phillips head screws on a control panel that Riker touches that triggers a traumatic a memory. In the DVD version and original TV version, the screws aren't there.

2025-05-01 02:05:53 +0000 UTCI think the first 3/4 of the episode is some of the most memorable (creepy) Trek of the series. The last 1/4? Riker being abducted is the worst special effect in the show's run. It's so comical it breaks all the tension that has been built. The aliens are underwhelming, and watching Geordi teching the tech to tech the tech to close the portal is about as exciting as sitting in a pool of mud.

2025-05-01 01:34:32 +0000 UTCThere's only one tiny flaw in this episode for me, and it's when the holodeck makes the jump to metal table and adds like a whole footrest thing. I feel like there should have been one extra transition in there and then it would have been perfect. I love that scene though. It's so eerie as they start figuring things out.
