Aye Geordi, & if my Grandmother had wheels she'd be a wagon !

S for silly super spheres, synthetic spirits and synthetic second officers. S for Sariel Rager at the helm. S for Scotty getting enough to do for once. S for the superb send-off. There’s a bit of dumbassery, but whatevs, it is… it is… it is green.

It's just a really memorable episode for me. I saw it when I was a kid and took Scotty's life lessons to heart!

Stellar

Good to see Scotty, but the episode as a whole was rather underwhelming to me. I can only rate it a C.

Just tossing some Dyson trivia. I read a NASA study about Dyson spheres. When you are standing on the inside edge, the bulk of the sphere is above you pulling you up (toward the center). The up force is enough to negate the downward force exerted by the hull under you. So no gravity. To spin it is impractical cause the different speeds of the equator and the poles would tear known materials apart. So it sounds like the sun will just suck in everything not nailed down.

At this point in his life James Doohan was suffering from ridiculous Alzheimer's disease as well as dementia

By this point in the series I had already gotten bored with the whole, Geordi is wrong for 38 minutes and then becomes correct in the last five. Laforge acts like a dick through this whole episode, again, only to be shown he's wrong to act that way, again.

Honestly, I think Doohan was hamming it up a little bit hard. I don't think his performance style was meshing too well with the '90s. But that's a small gripe in an episode full of awesome.

Aaron Wells

It boggles my mind that anyone could find fault with this episode. If you’re going to pay tribute to a legacy character, THIS is how you do it. Solid S tier.

Raphael Gaytan

True, although given the circumstances I attribute it to a moment's confusion.

Pete Spreadborough

This is a comfort episode for me. I absolutely love it and it’s something I'll often put on if I just want to watch a single episode. S tier without a doubt.

Wade MacKinnon

A "B" for fan service. Really not that great an episode. Plus there is a continuity error regarding Trek lore that would be a spoiler at this time.
