I always enjoy this episode. It’s fun with some stakes but not world level stakes (I don’t think we ever seriously think the ship is going to blow up) with a chance to see new pairings of characters. I especially like Troi’s storyline. I feel like it gave her some oomph and demonstrated how specialized some of the knowledge and terms we hear bridge officers rattling off really are. Also made me wonder how much she really understood up until now of what the others on the bridge are talking about in scientific and tactical crises.

Troi's counselor is like a military chaplain. They dress down, they usually want to be addressed more casually because to do their job the lower ranks need to see them as a peer and not as a superior officer.
This is a brilliant script to announce that

Patron Moonlander said it's a milestone for O'Brien. A "miles"stone for MILES O'Brien. Get it?

Although not dramatic, the decompression scene really shouldn’t have been a huge hurricane style event. They were just evacuating that one sealed room, through a huge edifice- the shuttle bay door. The pressure differential is only one atmosphere and would equalise almost instantly. By far the greatest threat would by hypoxia and suffocation, which was reasonably portrayed. Hopefully you guys keep on with The Expanse, because these kind of issues come up repeatedly as that show goes on!

My head canon is that the panel heated up very quickly while he was already looking elsewhere.

I wonder why Geordi didn't notice the hot wall. His visor should have picked up the temperature difference.

Episodes like this really remind me of why I love Star Trek so much. Not space battles. Not technobabble. People. Tension and humor driven by character interaction.

Love this one. S tier and one of my top 5 of season 5. I found your bathleth c-section joke was the best part of this reaction for me, (honestly I couldn't stop laughing.) Thanks for the ride boys.

This is in my top 5 maybe. TNG rarely has any danger or the ship being in any sort of peril, so this was a real breath of fresh air.
