A realization just came to me that I cant explain without spoilers that wee lass isn't up to even with her most recent reaction I think, but she might be onto something mentioning the entrance exam relics. I have a theory about that.

Ironwood’s unprompted initiative and moving the cybernetic arm to the Priority One spot I see as done in part to say “sorry we doubted you, my own apologies, and thank you for the sacrifice you still made even with all of that”. The Faunus ears and tails are also much more expressive with the new animation. Son’s “it’ll be like a regular Journey to the East” is a play on the famous tale “Journey to the West” featuring Son Wu-Kong, The Monkey God. Conjecture: when Salem said earlier that having a Maiden’s power was a hinderance in fighting someone like Ruby, could it be that the Maiden power (and maybe collective conscious?), defaults to seeing silver-eyed warriors as protectors and thus will resist using the power on them? So Cinder is having to train to dominate the Maiden power and break it into compliance to have a hope of using her powers unrestrained on a Silver Eyes? And enter creepy Cthulhu-Palantír.
