I somehow missed this reaction??

It's a stupid episode, but it's a GOOD, stupid episode :)

Tintros

The meeting was about the charity his and scrooge's companies opened together. I think that's why.

What I love about this ep is that, had he not owned up to it, Glomgold would have actually succeeded here. For once, his scheme was... smart. It shows you that, even if Glomgold is an idiot, he does know Scrooge well, and knows what would drive him up the wall. But of course, it goes both ways - Scrooge KNEW that Glomgold would not be able to keep himself from gloating, which ended up being his downfall. Fun ep!

This is one of the funniest episodes in the show for me. It doesn't further the plot really but I had such a good time watching it, and still do.

Mrs. Beakley: "What do you do next time your uncle goes mad with suspicion?" Huey, Dewey, & Webby: "Call Mrs. Beakley." Louie: "Fake Scrooge's death." Of course he would miss the point.😂

Dan_Gaming_Fan

Glomgold tried, still, why was he at scrooge's place for a meeting anyways?

The bet was "Whoever is the richest duck by this time next year, wins." And "Winner gets the loser's company." Also, in that same episode. Owlson signed them both up to fund the Dimes for Ducklings charity, so they're technically business partners now. That's why she and Glomgold were going to have a meeting with Scrooge in his building.

8:05 You missed the part where Gyro says that all thieves caught are "placed under genetic experimentation for Operation: Gyro-Pocalypse." This chicken's a real mad scientist, alright.

Dan_Gaming_Fan

You got 87 Celts!? That IS a perfect solution! None will stand before Mosco!🤣

Dan_Gaming_Fan

Yeah I remember that! It was a real thing with weird symptoms in the og cartoon lol.

Zan Owlson is named after the show's producer Suzanne Olson.

"The amount doesn't matter. What matters is the bin has been compromised!" Honestly, he's not wrong. I mean, the *last* time it was comprimised, they ended up with a money-eating shark in the bin - and this was with someone *adding* to the bin, not taking something out. "Gold fever" is a nod to the pilot/movie for the original Duck Tales series.

Glomgold's bet with Scrooge was that whichever of them is the richest "by the end of the year" (what exactly this means is unclear because the timeline in this show is a bit of a mess) wins the loser's company. Glomgold challenged Scrooge to this at the end of The Ballad of Duke Baloney while taunting him over the money he stole from Scrooge as a kid, and Scrooge has enough of an ego that he accepted. That's one of this season's major recurring arcs, so if you like Glomgold, good news on that front. The reason Glomgold and Owlson were having a meeting at the Bin was that while Glomgold was still living as Duke Baloney and Owlson was running his company, she arranged a joint charity program with Scrooge's company, and that was already established by the time Glomgold came back. This episode was released in 2019, so the characters putting on masks while Scrooge goes off on insane conspiracy theories rather than admit he's sick was completely coincidental. I'm not sure if it aged brilliantly or horribly, but it certainly did age. "All I Do Is Win" was originally a temp track for the storyboards meant to be replaced with original music in the final cut, but the staff liked the joke so much that they actually licensed it. This also means that DJ Khaled exists in the world of Ducktales. When asked, the writers said he's "DJ Quailed" here. After the episode aired, someone asked Frank Angones on Tumblr if Glomgold really spent a year in a staring contest with a baby. His response: "12. MONTHS. LATER."

Production_Run

yes it was LOL

Makes sense. Never met a problem that couldn't be solved by throwing Celts at it!

Arianod

Is "87 Celt" a typo, or a Scottish in-joke that's going over my head?

JHB

that makes cents

John Bossert

Fun fact All I Do Is Win was originally only a placeholder but the crew loved it so they got permission to use it

Kayla Ryan

The title is a play on the name of the 1974 novel/1976 movie "The Seven-Per-Cent Solution", wherein Sherlock Holmes is treated by Sigmund Freud

JHB

I have waited so long for you to reach this banger of an episode.
