Not many I don't think. Also that theme song was a jam. (it was also a cover of a Rod Stewart song which is odd).

[SPOILER FOR ALEX & JOSH] i think the original idea was to have these parasites as a recurring threat. It appears that the cost of the special effects and the difficulty in realising them led to the writers/producers changing plan. The next big threat was written to be more practical to present and to be a more direct physical presence.......

there are those who would consider Enterprise "the beginning" of New Trek... few people appreciated a Trek theme that had lyrics

it seems such an epic world changing event to spend just 1 episode on it

13:44 Not only is it unsettling, my only complain with this episode is that the story moves too fast. If it were a film, it could have slowed down some and been explored more thoroughly.

These parasites are picked back up in the beta cannon, there is a short story that involves them and a bit of their past.

6:15 I don't believe the phasers killed the infected people. It just took a lot more power to have any sort of (stun) effect at all!

Shooting at Remmick is the original 24th century "NOPE!!!"

3:30 I agree. We didn't meet anyone "infected" earlier. They were all mostly on Earth, I expect.

I actually thought Remick had set a homing beacon to signal more of the parasites to come to Earth.
