Fun fact: when this episode first aired it contained a major animation error. When Shanks was drinking with Ace in the flashback he was shown with both arms even though it takes place long after he loses an arm to save Luffy. This has since been corrected but is still probably one of the most well known errors in the fandom.

2025-11-29 22:35:16 +0000 UTCYet another addition to goofy One Piece laughs.... "GURARARARARARARARA" which is a play on his Devil Fruit... the "Gura-Gura No Mi" or "Tremor-Tremor Fruit". You know what i find really funny? the story makes it seem like Whitebeard is this Pirate from ages past (and he is)... and that he's older than everybody present, specially since we know he's suffering from an illness.... But then you realize that Sengoku, Garp and Tsuru are all older than him.... Whitebeard is 72...... Tsuru is 74, Garp is 76 and Sengoku is 77. But still.... they're all basically babies compared to Kureha, who is 139 xdddd. Also... now that you've seen Ace's beginnings as a Pirate... here's a fun fact for you: Remember that Island in the Live-Action where we see Zoro's first scene? and where he encountered and killed Mr. 7? (Sixis Island) There is an novel that came out in 2018 that is centered around Ace's adventures when he was Captain of the Spade Pirates, and in that novel it was revealed that... that same island is the place where Ace found and ate the Flame-Flame Fruit. And since you have properly met Thatch as well.... here's another fun fact: Whitebeard, Thatch and Blackbeard's real names all contain parts of the real-life Blackbeard's name..... Edward Thatch/Edward Teach (there are different historical documents that differ on which one it's his real surname).
