HAZBIN HOTEL 2X8 "Curtain Call" Full Length Reaction

If vox died this Season i actually think my rating would've gone down. Vox is my favorite type of villain, so much so that he's my favorite character in this whole show. The only other Villain that i like was killed in the same season he was introduced, I was so sad to that point i wanted one of those BS plot lines where we go "Oh no, the villain wasn't actually dead" type moments. He's an amazing mix of goofiness and straight evil. I was the most engaged when he was on screen and S2 ep 5 made him my favorite. I'm glad he's likely to be just goofy, now that he's just a flat screen tv.

I'm honestly not sure if I like this season more or less than Season 1. I definitely liked Vox more than Adam as a villain, and he got so many amazing songs out of his run. I'm actually okay with him being spared too, now in a helpless state where he can no longer hurt or influence anyone. And as an appreciator of irony, I gotta love the TV demon being reduced to a literal talking head. I initially suspected that they would stop Vox but fail to stop the war, and that would be Season 3. I'd be disappointed that isn't the case, but I honestly loved this finale enough that I don't even mind. Besides, it raises a lot more questions on where next season actually WILL go. I think you're right to suspect it will involve a lot more of Angel. His sister could be introduced through Pentious, and if there's any hope of redeeming him, Angel will probably have to confront his father again. Just gonna assume he's also in Hell, because you generally don't kill your dad for being a great person. Also, I love the scene of Charlie making Vaggi the new hotel manager. I know her arc this season was frustrating, but I recognize that it WAS an arc she perhaps needed to go through, and the end result of recognizing that Vaggi can run the hotel better than her is really heartwarming. I am very okay with her sticking to counseling and letting Vaggi handle the PR from now on. XD It's funny that for all the flak the show gets for moving too fast, it took the entirety of the first season just to prove the core concept works, and the entirety of the second season to get everyone onboard with it. I feel like the show could've just started from this point, with the hotel as an already established road to redemption, and that alone would've made a good premise. But I like seeing the journey of how we got here, and any future redemptions will feel more meaningful now because of it. In short, as someone who IS very attached to this world and its characters, I'm willing to be patient and let Viv tell her story, eight episodes at a time if necessary. :P
