2025-11-09 01:20:21 +0000 UTCBlackbeard did have the power of the Dark-Dark Fruit when he met Luffy in Jaya, he simply chose not to show it. Back when Blackbeard and Ace had their fight in Banaro Island (episode 325) it was revealed that the reason Teach killed the 4th Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates (Thatch) was because Thatch found the Devil Fruit before anyone else and therefore had the right to eat it (Pirate Code n' stuff). And since Teach was already out of Whitebeard's crew when he met Luffy... that means he already had the power of Darkness back then.
