This is definitely my favorite episode of Season 1. Other people have said it already... but i just want to confirm it..... This is the world the Original Lich created when he wished "The extinction of All Life" to Prismo back in the Season 5 Premiere. Minute 4:33 "The Armor of Zeldron" (Reference to "Blood Under the Skin") "The Wand of Dispersement" (Reference to "Sons of Mars") "The Freaky Porcelain Lamb" (Reference to "Beyond this Eartly Realm") "What are you gonna look for next? Magic Beans?" (Possible Reference to "The Pods") Minute 5:11 The ilustration he's showing is a Reference to the lore we learned in the special "Wizard City". Minute 12:41 OH MY GOD man.... i can't tell you all the stuff that frame of Simon getting out of the car made me feel. That frame was in the newspaper photo Marceline showed Ice King back in "I Remember You", that single frame flooded me such nostalgic memories... of all the speculations, the predictions and good times i had with this fandom in the early days of the show. I swear... i was so choked up when i saw that........ that i almost teared up, i was clutching my chest and everything. Also... i love the song that played during the final part of Simon and Betty's flashback, probably my favorite scene of the season as well.
