I've heard horror stories about these crazy psycho idiot customers in America. People shouting, complaining, harassing employees, being arrogant and awful and entitled, thinking they can do whatever they want and treat people like they're not people... I've never encountered a single one of these people in my life. I think it's mostly an American thing because Americans tend to be more direct and confrontational, and all about their own personal rights and freedoms (even above the rights and freedoms of others). Where I'm from, everyone is basically an introvert and nobody wants to cause a fuss or be an inconvenience to anybody else, so we even have trouble speaking up when there is genuinely something to complain about. And when we do, it'll be overly polite and full of apologies. I can't imagine seeing a person yell at a worker (or other customer) and making demands.
