Fun thing about this battle that is subtle(but not really)is the fighting styles and techniques of the one piece world. We have devil fruits, haki, six powers(luffy doing soru), and what kumadori did called life return. When he controlled his digestion and even the very ends of his hair to use as weapons such as what Sandersonia and marigold did with their hairs. Even lucci did life return when he turned skinny for an agile version of his fruit and also turned really buff. Im pretty sure luffy has done it in alabasta when crocodile dehydrated his arm and his body, but it also could have been a gag/plot device. Also I think brook has done it too when he drinks milk.. but that's unconfirmed
