I realized watching this a second time that Shermy and Beth are pretty much this era's heroes. I wasn't quite sure during the reaction on what their purpose was in the finale.

small moments that absolutely wreck me in this episode: the marceline flashback, pb seeing shoko in finn (illustrating just how long they’ve truly known each other), finn saying “i always figured i’d go out saving somebody”, and sweet p becoming a hero like finn. time adventure gets me every time too. just like you said, music has been such an integral part of this show and the fact that they were able to use it to defeat the biggest bad of the entire series is just amazing. just the most perfect finale to this beautiful show
