"Grapes, the more sour, the better!" something VERY often overlooked in this series is something you actually mentioned earlier! Frieren specifically collects a spell to turn sweet grapes into sour ones and you asked "why would you want that?", whelp, here's your answer! This series is fantastic at bread-crumbing. Little comments or hints that only pay off on a re-watch (or if you're lucky enough to remember it!) that manage to hit the heart in a way you didn't think possible. There is SO much love and emotional depth within this series!

2025-07-16 23:27:19 +0000 UTCSome other small details you might not have noticed, but in the last episode one of the spells she collected was to turn sweet grapes sour, and Ferns hair ornament is a butterfly, and the spell that got her into magic was the butterfly illusions Heiter shows her from last episode too
