Minute 1:48 of the Reaction: there's a statue of Two-Bread Tom in the Park, the leader of the Human Group who Marceline helped escape from Ooo all those centuries ago. So it is assumed that Tom was one of these "Founders". And it's crazy to think about too... that it's indirectly thanks to Marceline that Finn was able to be born. Yep.... the real tragedy unfolds before us..... Martin Mertens actually never meant to leave Finn and Minerva, he was a scumbag before... but a life spent with Minerva actually made him a better man, and the reason he reverted back to the worst version of himself is the real gut-punch... See... before this episode came out... the crew of the show released a promotional art, and in that art you can see Martin being rescued by a Pirate Group, he's wearing the same outfit he had when he got separated from Finn, but most importantly.... the art shows his head bleeding. https://www.reddit.com/r/adventuretime/comments/5rkjy9/promo_art_for_min_and_marty_shows_what_happened/ This piece of promotional art seems to heavily imply that the reason why Martin reverted back to being a scumbag and why he only has vague memories of his past... it's because of that head injury, which makes his present-time interactions with Finn very painful to watch, because now Martin is gone... and Finn will never know that his Father really loved him.
