It was slightly disappointing to me to not have NPH back for that role in some later stuff (and much more disappointing to not have a certain other VA with initials KN back for an even more iconic character in later stuff), but at least Keith Ferguson is a chameleon voice actor who will rock any role.

2025-06-11 06:04:40 +0000 UTCWe all loved Butterscotch Butler the moment she was introduced, the scottish accent is soooo satisfying to hear. It is also worth noting that Keith Ferguson voiced Prince Gumbald this time around, since Neil Patrick Harris was very busy at the time. Also... i find it very funny that we see Cake so fixated on making Flapjacks this episode... since her voice actress (Roz Ryan) was also the voice of Bubby the Whale on the show " The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack" who is the best friend and mother figure of the titular character... Flapjack. (Side note... if Adventure Time is considered the Father of modern western animation... then the Flapjack show would be the Grandfather, since Pend Ward perfected his own personal style while working on that show, work that allowed him to create the concept of our beloved AT years after). When Butterscotch Butler mentions Gumbald's dreams... the image that appears it's a parody/reference to the 1781 oil painting named "The Nightmare" by Henry Fuseli. The image of Gumbald's Ambitions is similar to the "Faravahar", one of the most well-known symbols of the religion known as Zoroastrianism. In addition.... "Diary of a Youth" could be a reference to "Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank.
