Fun Fact: Captain John was already mentioned before in the show.... back in the Jaya Arc (specifically on episode 145) we see Buggy and his Crew looking for a specific treasure on an unnamed island, and they mention that it is a "legendary treasure" which belonged to "Captain John", a pirate who did "many cruel things". Also... this is what i meant when i said in a previous episode that Oda is good at "counter-balancing" the issue of Absalom trying force himself onto Nami and making that situation into a "gag". Here he gives Absalom a taste of his own medicine... with a character that is also trying to force herself onto him, which is played as a joke as well. In that sense Oda is at least being fair when it comes to his... unpleasant gags, not just using the women as the targets for these jokes.
