The Origins duology is hands down some of the best gumball episodes in the whole show, the storytelling, the emotional moments, composition, and shots make this feel like a very big special event. It really wraps everything we've seen previously together, from the mysterious van, mention of multiple Darwins, how Darwin became Gumball's brother, and how a fish can breathe and walk, all so it can be revealed gloriously in this episode. Some smaller details I love is that when the camera pans onto the Elmore sign, it says "Population: Weird" which is def the right slogan for how diverse everyone is in Elmore, and when nicole was looking at the rainbow factory which would be where she works in present day. The Origins Parts 1 & 2 rightly deserve to be in the top 5 highest-rated episodes in the show (according to IMDB). But it just makes it funnier that the next episode after the origins just so happens to be considered one of the WORST episodes of the entire show (according to IMDB, The Girlfriend is one of the worst-rated episodes). I'm gonna be honest though, this episode is just pretty alright, not bad. It's just unfortunate that it follows up after the best in the series.
