ADVENTURE TIME 7X7 "Everything Stays" Full Length Reaction

Comments

i guess i’ve never looked at it like that. i always assumed the old ways referenced the fact that they came from almost 1000 years ago, because if vampires like them existed beforehand i feel like people would know about magic or at least a lot more would, which (another spoiler warning) . . . the people during simon’s time as well as patience st. pim’s did not believe in magic. but i guess it’s all up to interpretation bc it’s never been directly confirmed, but what you said also makes sense!

[LIGHT SPOILERS BELOW, JUST SO YOU KNOW MIKEY] Actually Wren... while it's not directly confirmed... it is pretty much implied that Vampires have existed long before the Mushroom War, maybe even before humans existed. If Vampires really were just another by-product of the Mushroom War then characters like Hierophant or The Empress would not be talking about "The Old ways" or "The commodities of the Old Hive" since they would have only existed for less than 2 decades before Marceline hunted them all down to extinction.

''them hungry lookign rainbows'' is a reference when lady rainicorns mom and dad met jake and they revealed that they eat humans

It can be a little confusing on why Marceline kindof looked like a vampire even as a child but then see she still wasn't a vampire yet in this flashback, but remember even before she was a vampire she was still a half-demon on her dad's side.

Same here, "Everything Stays" gets me every time.

I love (I mean sad for the character, but it's good storytelling) how we see Simon is pretty much halfway to being Ice King while recording that tape, he gives this heartfelt speech that's clearly coming from Simon but also is tinged with Ice King's melodrama, then the flippant "OK bye" is fully Ice King, and he keeps talking to Marceline in Ice King mode like she's not even there until she asks him not to go and he remembers who he is for a bit again.

dys

We love to see a biracial vampire

all it takes is a single note of “everything stays” to get me tearing up, it’s such a beautiful song. vampires most likely came into existence after the mushroom war like most of the magical creatures in ooo, and this is the first time we see any outside marcy

(This episode is JAM-PACKED with information so this comment is gonna be long) Fun Fact: Marceline's Mom is voiced (in this mini-series) by Rebecca Sugar herself, which i think is a beautiful detail... since Rebecca was a big part of shaping Marceline's character early on... before she left the show to produce Steven Universe. Fun Fact 2: Rebecca not only voiced Marcy's mom but she also composed the song "Everything Stays"... but that's not very surprising since she composes pretty much every Marceline song in the show xddd. The next scene which is when Simon left Marcy... right before he transitioned completely into being Ice King... it's actually a callback to the very first episode where we found out about Ice King's real identity. the video we see Simon recording here is the last part of the Tape we saw in "Holly Jolly Secrets Part 2". When Simon says "I'll arrange for someone to come take care of you, i'll make sure he doesn't leave" he's clearly referring to Marcy's father Hunson Abadeer, which is how he ended up in OOO and how Marceline came to know him personally. Which as you know... eventually led to the infamous eating of Marcy's Fries by her own father, which is what made Marcy decide to banish Hunson back into the Nightosphere, event that inspired the iconic Fry Song. Yep, we see how Marceline obtained her iconic Powers, all thanks to her Soul-sucking ability, being born a Half-Demon from her Father's side did have it's benefits after all. All these little flashbacks happened before Marceline became a Vampire, meaning that she was mortal and aging at the same pace a human does... which means that yes... those are all humans who survived the Mushroom War. It was just a throw-away line... but the little girl with the Bunny hat pretty much explained why all the humans are using animal hats... it's because it helped them protect their necks from Vampire bites. And talking of that little girl.... there is a theory out there about her. So... remember the episode "Beautopia"? the one where Susan made her second appearance? well... there is a scene in that episode where one of the monster was chewing on a human skull.... and it just happens that the skull was wearing a Bunny Hat. So it's theorized that the Bunny Girl either decided to stay in the continent or returned to it afterwards and that she and a group of other humans stayed underground... and their descendants would eventually become the "Hyumans" (the Fish-head tribe), therefore that skull most likely it's hers. Two Bread Tom said "Or the hungry-looking rainbows" which is a funny reference to the fact that Rainicorns used to hunt and eat humans, as was explained in the episode "Her Parents" where we met Jake's Parents-in-law. Yes, this is the first time we've seen other Vampires in the show besides Marceline. And finally... this episode tells us that the remaining surviving humans from the Mushroom War left the continent to some other land, and that's why there's none of them in OOO nowadays.... except for Finn of course.
