ouuugh i forgot how much this episode makes me cry lmao. "just one episode before i go to sleep" why would i choose this one?? anyways one of the best flashbacks of all times, robin is my absolute favorite and it is mainly because of these four episodes

I'm pretty much used to it now, though I still very much prefer English Franky, especially when he shouts. Anyway, I remember Robin's "I want to live!" being incredible in English and it still hits hard now. Really makes it clear why she has such a reputation for "betraying everyone she works with". That's only natural when you've spent most of your life being betrayed yourself. Also why she has such a PTSD-level fear of both the Buster Call and Kuzan/Aokiji. Even a part of him must have thought it would've been better for her to die back then, seeing what his attempt at mercy gave her.

This part in the anime is truly incredibly paced, all of Robin's backstory as well as the build-up to her saying that she wants to live... was perfectly done, heck.... they even changed the music for the cut-to-commercials cards in order to not mess-up the tone. And huge props to Yuriko Yamaguchi too.... her line delivery here was on par with Kappei (Usopp), you can really feel all the emotion and weight behind her words... that "I Want to Live" was masterfully acted. Lastly... since you're gonna watch episodes 279 to 283 on your own i want to remind you that there are some funny extra bits after the "To Be Continued" screen of those episodes. I really want to hear your thoughts on those, they're hilarious xddddd.

Some who thought they are fighting for the right side and realise that it's not what they believe in and fight back, those who are deeply conflicted and are not sure what or who is really right, and those who drunk the koolaid and are happy to just follow orders to the extreme, and those who are just in it for themselves and to accumulate power. Oda is the master of blurred lines and not really having good guys and bad guys. Not matter which side your on, there are grey areas and people are people.
