If i had a nickel for every time a cartoon show had a character who's name starts with "Mart" be a deadbeat dad..... i would have 2 nickels.... which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. Martin is full of shit, he's a chronic liar... we all know that but.... it's interesting how he started to act once Finn asked him where he came from and who his mom is, Martin started freakin out a little and was talking like he could only barely remember the events. Of course... he could just be making up a story for Finn, you just can't never be sure with this guy.

The moment that Martin stated his last name to be "Mertens" (without Finn ever telling him it), any theories that he wasn't *really* Finn's bio-dad were officially dead and buried — no 'if's, 'and's, or 'but's about it. (I point this out because, back when the show was airing, *I* was one of those people holding a sliver of doubt that maybe, just maybe, he was lying about it.)
