Expanded Realm Of Magic

With Expanded Realm of Magic, you get a plethora of mods that were previously only available as stand-alone, along with some brand new, unique custom spells.

This mod requires the Core Library and Injection Tools. The mod also requires the Spellbook Injector for the new spells to appear in the spellbook.

There is an issue with the game complaining about the missing object resources from vampire magic and mooncasters, which was not a problem before the patch. I'm currently busy getting back on track with other mods, I'll get to fixing this LE, in the meantime I posted a quick fix, consisting of the object resources from the other two mods, HERE

Play As The Sage

Expanded RoM includes a mod previously known as Play As The Sage, updated an reworked for the occasion. Basically, it makes the Magic Sage roles playable:

With this new release, it's possible to Play As The Sage as a gigs based career similar to Star Wars quests system (doesn't conflict with other careers, so the Sim can still have another job), it's also possible to make money by playing in the Sage role. The first time you enter the Realm as a Sage, you'll be given a tutorial mission to showcase the basics:

Subsequently, Sages can offer assistance to intermediate and novice spellcasters in the Magic Realm to get more quests:




A new NPC will be added to the Magic Realm, the Sages Assistant:

(The appearance of this NPC may alter from one save to the next since it's generated at random from among six premades I created for the role.)
Aside from keeping the Magic Realm in order (putting away books and discarding Cauldrons content when the NPCs are done experimenting) the Assistant can give Sages a Daily Task:


Daily Task can be requested once per day.

Improved Autonomy

Autonomy for NPC Sages is also expanded, they'll be able to experiment with cauldrons, have duels with each other and give lessons autonomously:



Attending a Sage's Lecture can unlock spells in the relative school for played Sims.

Expanded Spells:

Expands a number of vanilla game spells. These mods had overrides before that have now been removed.



Untamed Magic is Untamed:

Makes the untamed spells deadly. Currently can only be unlocked with cheats for regular witches (because I have plans) and are unlocked only for the Sage of Untamed Magic without cheats.



I changed the way this mod works, previously it was an override of maxis untamed spells, now it doesn't override vanilla spalls anymore (that are still safe) instead it unlocks a more powerful, deadly version of the untamed spells as the witch ranks up.

Unlocking the Custom Spells:

A new NPC is added to the Realm, the Mysterious Traveller you'll find around the marketplace:

She sells the tomes for my custom spells.

Some tomes are only available to purchase once you make friends with her!

Vampire Cauldron Potions:

Turns the vampire drinks like the vampire cure and sunlight reversal into cauldron potions, plus adds a potion of blood to fill vampire thirst. Vanilla drinks will still be available to make at the bar.

Cheats:

Not all the cheats in the screenshot above are available to the end user (unless the debug cheats are unlocked in MCCC)

These files are not required if you use my private filters from Assign NPC roles.

Hi! Is there a way to spawn in the Mysterious Traveller? Ive spent a lot of time in the market, but she hasn't appeared. I tried getting the sim ID by using "Clover Ivyfall" and it says "Sim not found." Is there something I'm missing?

Hi! For some reason, I don't have the option to give a lecture. There is an opportunity to take a task, there is an opportunity to conduct a ritual, but not to give a lecture. What could be wrong? All extensions are installed, it's just that there is no such option when clicking on a character.

Excuse me, I would like to ask a question. I just started playing again with a new save file after some time. I noticed that only the assistant and the mysterious vendor appear in the Realm, so I am curious about Carmilla's fate. Was the simfilter tuning for the ancient vampire/Carmilla Nyx intentionally removed in the latest mod update, for now? When I checked using S4Studio, I only found 3 simfilter tunings, so I thought maybe this is why the ancient vampire can’t be spawned. Thank you in advance.

Hey how do I turn my sims into sages? the find a career button isn't working and when I use Arnies cheats mod/all cheats mod (not sure which one) to force the panel to open I don't see anything. I should note I am on a completely blank save

Make sure you don't have a mod that overrides the sages traits: trait_MagicSage_Mischief, trait_MagicSage_Untamed, trait_MagicSage_Practical, It might also be a problem with the situation jobs or the filters, it's hard to say without testing directly.

Hey man. Thanks for your work. I'm encountering a problem. After getting the sage role and reentering the magic realm, the game won't let my sim be the sage. The vfx and the situation job won't stick to my sim. Even if I use no random sages, the realm won't spawn the specific sage, and my sim is also not the sage. What am I doing wrong?

Yep. I should block the ability to do that, I think the filter for the sage doesn't accept Sims below the young adult age.

Yes, this mod doesn't change the game mechanics (like xp gain etc) so it won't affect a Spellcaster progresses up to the point of installation.

Hi I recently found out your amazing mods. I was thinking about downloading this mod, but I have one question. I'm currently playing as a virtuoso spellcaster who learned all the spells from base game. Will it be safe to put this mod mid game or would I have to start all over with a new save?

Hello, this mod is great but I am running into a slight issue. I have followed your instructions for the download and I have the injectors(including the updated one from andirz) and the core lot. I have become the sage via challenging another sage and I am unable to progress the quest\job when it asks me to perform balance ritual and give lecture. Those options do not appear at all for my sim. Everything else seems to work ok except for the sages don't really have the autonomy mentioned in the description nor do they randomly battle each other but I'm not worried about that. I would like to progress the sage quests though, what do you advise?

Yes they all have the title above their heads and they all have the option to purchase.

Hi! I updated everything that I can think of including this mod and I am running into an issue. I cannot buy any tomes other than enchantio and empathorize. The other tomes are no longer available and I am now seeing three "mysterious travellers" all named Clover Ivyfall. I still see the other spells in my sims spellbook I just can't learn them at the moment. I'm not sure if this is to do with the spellbook injector since that's the only mod I'm not finding an update for.

Awesome, thanks! I haven't removed the snippet from any of mod so rolling back isn't a problem. Just wait to install it because it might cause issues since those mods currently have overrides to keep working.

Not to my knowledge. I don't know if the spell book injector is broken, not all scripts were broken, for example "travel to venue" still works.

there is a cheat to make it appear and disappear, you probably enabled that.

Vampire potions are only available for mages with this mod. To have them on the cauldron for vampires you want Magic for Vampires in combination with this one that enables the potions for vampires too.

My vampire is a grandmaster and at level 15 of the vampire lore. What else can I check?

If my vendor is in the Magic Realm. She sells all the tomes for the custom recipes and spells including the vampire ones (you need enough vampire lore skill for the books to be for sale)

I am new to this and have questions. I downloaded the expanded realm of magic mod and am finding things are not showing up. I cannot brew any vampire potions, or see the sage addition. What can I check ?

Re-install the core library outside of subfolders. Test the mod alone with only the core library.

My sim is maxed and I’m in the magic realm. I made sims from different families sages and when I go to the magic realm they show up as sages only if I’m not playing them. If I’m playing them, my sim doesn’t show as a sage eventhough they have the trait.

You need to bring them in the realm if they're in the active household, they won't appear there otherwise. Challenging a sage is only available for Sims above Lv4

Level 4+. Still it's weird that the cheats aren't showing up for you, I'd test the mod alone to see why.

No you can become a Sage by challenging an existing Sage with this mod. This is an ongoing project not yet complete, making a video now is pointless because I'm still merging old mods into it.

You're missing Journey to Batuu. It isn't a problem, the career doesn't work if you don't have that pack but the LE can't be stopped.

Interactions are blocked until the Spellcaster ranks up.

It's compatible with everything isn't listed, Vampire Magic might have issues with the Sage in the Magic Realm.

I have the mischief art unlocked, but can't morphiate other sims into specific things -- it's just random. Is this a bug or is there a possible mod conflict on my end? Only other spell mods I have are Master Magic and Vampire Magic.
