Vampires Can Kill (Re-post, New Version)

If updating from an old version of the mod, follow these instructions, as the mod has been completely reworked:

Notice: if you experience the dancing bug (Sims starting to dance instead of running the drink animation) install this mod by Lot51. This is a well known bug with some cloned interactions.

Note for translator: most strings are in the main file. The 25 string containing the word "plasma" (or blood) are in the two separated packages.

FEATURES

Deadly Drink:

The basic feature of the mod is allowing Vampires to kill Sims with a bite.
First change of the new version: the mod doesn't override Maxis interactions anymore, the deadly interactions are all in their own category to avoid conflicts with other mods:


Interactions from this category are always deadly! Low level vampires might need to weaken the victim before attempting to kill them with a drink.

There is now a custom death:

Some Sims react if they catch your Vampire killing another Sim:

Fear of Vampire:

Witnessing a Vampire drink or getting attacked by a Vampire can trigger the Fear of Vampires:


It pissed me off that there is a generic "Fear of the Dark" but no specific Fear of Vampires (or other occults) so I made one. It can only be solved by slaying a Vampire.

Cattle:

Vampires can turn Sims into Cattle to keep them around and drink from them when they need it, like in the old version of the mod. All vampires can tun Sims into Cattle during the New Moon. The "Manipulate Life Spirit" perk unlocks the ability to turn Sims into Cattle always.
Cattle have two custom motives and no social motive, they cannot socialise unless allowed to by their Masters. They also have a custom autonomy.

Plasma (or Blood, depending on the STBL you choose to instal) is what a Vampire consumes when drinking from a Cattle instead of energy like it happens for regular Sims. A Cattle doesn't die from critically low Plasma level, they just pass out, and there is no "recently bitten" limitation for drinking from them, but a critically low Plasma level starts consuming their Life Force. Plasma level goes back to normal if the Cattle is left alone, it goes up faster if the Cattle is well kept (hunger and energy high).

Life Force is what keeps the Cattle alive, pretty much like in the old version, this motive cannot be normally restored, once it's over, the Cattle will die. A Vampire can restore a Cattle's life force by feeding them their plasma, but doing so will block the ability to drink from that Cattle for a while. Vampires can also directly drain Cattle Life Force to restore Vampire Energy;



You can check on the Cattle's motives from the Manage Cattle menu:

Life Force also gets drained during a specific event that can only happen at night: the Cattle can get attacked by shadows as their defences are down and they're between life and death. A Vampire with resistance to sun can use the "Protect from Shadows" power on them at night to prevent this.

Cattle Levels:

There are 5 Cattle levels, they come with different emotions and autonomy.

Cattle doesn't have the full range of emotions a regular Sim has, they cannot have positive emotions and normally, they're either scared, sad or dazed depending on their level. Level 1 and 2 Cattle are scared, 3 and 4 are sad and 5 are dazed. Their level affects how likely they are to refuse following an order and how good they are at bringing in other victims.

Their appearance also changes on high levels.
The level goes up as you order them around, drink from them or use some powers on them. At level 5 Cattle can be turned into Servants.

Cattle Management:

You can give orders to Cattle:
You can either be nice or severe, how you decide to behave with them influences how fast they level up (and nope, I don't reward you for being nice). Aside from the regular stuff like cleaning up and repair stuff, you can also order them to go out and bring back other Sims:

This will send them to a rabbit hole and they'll come back with fresh victims:

What you do with the Sims they bring back is up to you! low level Cattle is better at bringing back victims as they're still more human!
Cattle can defy your orders.

Low level Cattle is more likely to say no to a direct order. When they reject an order, you cannot order them again for a while. It also unlocks the ability to punish them:


This is another power that makes them level up. A punished Cattle will not defy orders again for a while.
Cattle doesn't age as long as they're Cattle.

Servants:

Level 5 Cattle can be turned into Servant


Servants behave very much like a butler, they do stuff around the house autonomously, you can still order them to do specific things, they never fail at bringing other victims. They're undead, so there is no turning back from the Servant status, they can only be destroyed. (You can turn a Sim back from Servant only with my debug cheats). They don't have needs and they don't socialise:

They also don't age and give a skill bonus to vampires when they're around.

Turning Sims into Cattle:

In order to avoid the problems the old mod had, there are some restrictions and tests:
If the Sim has a house: they'll be automatically added to your family when you turn them. Sims whose household has more than one Sim but no other Young Adults, Adults or Elders cannot be turned:
For example is you try to turn a Sim whose household only has one YA and all pets, the interaction will fail

If the Sim doesn't have a house: they'll become roommates to prevent them from running away. If you have too many roommates one will leave. I didn't add tests to check how many roommates you have because there are mods that increase the cap. Same restrictions as before applies to households with more than one Sim and less than two adults.

Other occults cannot be turned into Cattle to avoid conflicts with motive bars, but you're welcome to try turning them!

When you turn a Sim into a Cattle, the Cattle automatically belongs to all the Vampires in the household. Some specific interactions can only be used by the original Master, but all the Vampires in the household can drink from them.

Freeing a Cattle:

Cattle can be freed by: another Vampire, a Werewolf bite, or the Rite of Ascension from a witch. The Masters will react to another Sim freeing their Cattle.

When you free a Cattle: if the Cattle had been added as a roommate, they're removed and they'll run away. If the Cattle had been added to the household, they'll be removed and they'll run away, it this case they'll become hidden households, you can get those sims back by inviting them into another household or unhiding them with MCCC. If the Cattle has a good relationship with the household, they'll stay either as roommates or as members.

NPCs and Autonomy:

(This is something I plan expanding when I'll have more time, right now I want to finish the other projects I put in hold to work on this mod)
You can enable autonomy on vampires on an individual sim basis in my cheats menu by shift-clicking on a Vampire:

There are also 3 NPC roles you can assign from Vlad's statue in the centre of Forgotten Hollow:

They follow Maxis premades set up for Forgotten Hollow and the purpose is giving more lore to the Vampire GP to bring it in line with RoM and Werewolves.


The NPCs roles come with custom autonomy:

Good Vampire (Caleb): will autonomously free every Cattle, will react if they see another Vampire turning a Sim into a Cattle. Cannot turn Sims into Cattle, cannot kill other Sims





Neutral Vampire (Lilith): will autonomously restore Cattle's life force. Will attack a Vampire who turns a Sim into a Cattle in front of them. Can kill other Sims but cannot turn them into Cattle. Sides with the Good Vampire NPC.

Grand Master Vampire (Vlad): the most interesting one (autonomy only enabled in Forgotten Hollow), the Grand Master vampire can and will autonomously turn Sims into Vampires or Cattle. So if you, for example, set Vlad for the role and visit him at his mansion, it could happen that he'll turn a Sim in your household into a Cattle and steal them from your family (the active Sim cannot be a target for this autonomy).

You can give these roles to played Sims and assign more than one vampire for the role, but you only need one for each. It's also a completely optional feature.

Hello! I downloaded the mod and the injector, I tried to find someone else with my problem but I havent found anyone. The prompts show up, I can click it and my sim will walk over to the other sim, but no interraction happens and the action never ends, so I have to cancel it. I deleted and redownloaded the mod and the injector shows up in game so I dont think it is the source of the issue. Thank you in advance if you can help me :)

Hey hey, i been loving this mod for a long time now, but i had a little idea for a vamp and it seems like i cant do it with this mod, I have gone and gotten the reclaimed humanity trait fro that aspiratiuons as part of my murderous vampire cover as a all so good vamp, but now i cant drink till death. Is there any way i can disable that? cause i would very much want to keep the aspiration trait haha! but i also wanna kill :D

All Spellcasters are prevented from being cattled because the UI for the cattles would conflict with the Spellcasters motive panel. They should react if you try to make them into a cattle. If you made him human and the interaction is still not appearing then the problem is another, Morgyn doesn't have a special trait that identifies him in game and allows testing stuff for him specifically.

Is there a restriction that prevents Morgyn Ember from being 'cattled'? Moved them to a lot with another YA sim, no pets or anyone else and no option to turn into cattle. Also made them human, still nope. No issues with other sims just Morgyn.

Check that you don't have another mod overriding the vampireCanDrink testset. Maxis rolled back that change in the testsets anyway so the problem should be fixed by the patch they released a couple of weeks ago to fix pregnancy mods. Try updating the game to that patch.

July 2025 Patch Fixed interactions not working because all sims are allegedly pregnant; I still have this problem. I deleted all the old files and re-downloaded. The problem still exists.

You have another mod that is overriding the Vampire_CanDrink testset by Maxis. Mine doesn't, the custom testset is fixed but some of my interactions use the standard one from the game.

Hi! I know you mentioned that you already corrected the problem with every sim "being pregnant", but I'm still having the same issue, even tried to remove every pregnancy mod I have to check it, but I still can't turn to cattle, or drink deeply etc because everyone "is pregnant"

I have been using this mod for years and its always been an essential mod for me and I just downloaded the updated version of this mod (haven't played in 6 months), but now the option to drink, turn or create cattle isn't working. It says that you can't drink from a pregnant sims. This is on all sims, male or female, and definitely not pregnant. I have tried removing all other mods and testing in a new file and its still saying the same thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! New to this mod and Patreon. I've been having some troubles - when a vamp selects 'compel for flirty/dazed/etc drink' they turn into ghosts and disappear and when they reappear there isn't any evidence of the vamp taking a drink/the victim being bit - tried downloading the dancing bug fix file above and it was the same outcome. Also completely missing the 'turn into cattle' option - all other drink options are available and the vamp has the required perk, moon is right etc. I've removed and installed a few different versions of the mod and this remains the same. I've tried assigning them via the statue and the siblings have a strong dislike for them because of it, but still didn't work. But yeah just trying to get the cattle bit to work. Thanks for helping out this idiot :)

This is the absolute BEST mod and now Vlad is a real Dracula!! Plus now everyone who went to my Vampire Nightclub has the vampire fear and they're teaming up to keep Vlad dead. I can't seem to make cattle though! Or at least, it only appears intermittently, and often deletes between saves (like I save game, exit, then the next time I load the game they're no longer cattle!). Is there an update coming, or a page with troubleshooting? Thank you so much for all your hard work!

One of the things I used to love about the previous version is "Drink Uncontrollably" killed the sim, which meant monitoring vampire sims thirst meters used to be very important otherwise there was a big chance you'd kill a sim you care about. As the new version uses new interactions, the drink uncontrollably interaction is back to the default outcome of energy failure, would it be possible to have an option to allow deaths from this interaction again when they're at low thirst?

It's not supposed to. It's only the strings for the mod not to override Maxis ones.

Try as I might, the "Zero_VampiresCanKill_STBL_Blood.package" does not override the word plasma. Your other mods, like the Premade holidays and reverse inclusivity work, but not the plasma -> blood.

Hello, it's been a long time since I updated the vampire mod and now I did the update and now it is no longer possible to propose a transformation into a vampire in friendly, and I wonder if it is possible to remove the blood link from a sim because I just saw that we can only do it on a sim. thanks in advance

I love this mod so much. 🥰 Have you ever thought about adding vampire death fight into the mod? Like they would fight each other and the loser would die at the end. I usually kill my vampires through the "slay vampire" and then use your mod to drink them dry, would be cool to have something that kills them still in vampire form

Regained humanity is a trait Sims get from completing the good vampire aspiration. It shows in the UI and you can remove it with UI cheats extension.

Seems like the required trait and relbit weren't added to the cattle correctly for some reason. You can try to fix it by using the cheats on the cattle and trying to bond them again or by removing the mod temporarily, loading the save, saving the game, adding the mod back and restarting from scratch.

Love the mod it adds great features. I have a cattle bonded to my vampire but there is no manage cattle option. The cattle also still has the social bar instead of the plasma bar. Also he option for deadly drink isn't showing up but they do die if I drink too much. Love the features and just wanted to know if I had to do something to have these options show up.

Yes. Spellcasters cannot be turned into cattle but the interaction should complete regardless. Try on another target or with another vampire.

I have an issue where my master vampire can't make cattle. The option is there but when I click on it, it goes into the queue and then disappears. The most my vampire will do is stand in front of her target or show the "I can't go there" thought bubble. I've tried emptying out my mods folder and having just this mod and the required others, but nothing is working. Does the interaction require a lot of space, does it need to happen outside?

Slay is a maxis mean interaction (under mean) that comes up on low relationship (I think) I'm not sure if for teens it can only be performed on other teens like the fight one.

Cool mod, many thanks. Are there any special conditions I have to meet to resolve the "fear of vampires" through "Slay a Vampire" ? I made the Ultimate Vampire Cure and it's in the inventory, I'm talking to a vampire but there is no "Slay" option. Sim is a teen if that matters. I did not update the very latest Sims 4 Game from Feb 28th, but up to date from before that. I assume the Lot 51 install is correct, it's the latest, and the script injector test says its good... Oh I found it, its because the sim is a teen, aging up made the option appear.

I did successfully make one a while back with an older sim I don’t use anymore, I swear she was a prime at that point when I tried, what level do they have to be? This is super impressive and I'm grateful that you put so much work into making this. Have you considered making an alternative version/optional add-on that will enable the full range of emotions for cattle? While I like the roboticness of these new cattle, I have a romance story going between a vampire and vampire slayer-turned-cattle that requires more consciousness on the side of the cattle, so it does put a damper on that. Thanks again for all your work!

I think there's some sort of bug with the cattle interactions. For some reason, I can only make a sim my cattle if I use cheats. Drinking from them and trying to turn them the normal way never gives me cattle interactions and relationship changes. I removed all other mods, but it persists. Any ideas?

I finally got around to test this out! I really love this mod, and I loved the old version too. So far the only issues I have found is, when you turn a homeless sim to cattle, they become your roommate. I have a basement dedicated to cattle with beds and stuff, but they keep saying "I haven't gotten any sleep, I'm leaving" so they leave in a couple of days. Also, I can't really use the cattle options on my new "room mates", I can just turn them to cattle over and over again lol. I looked away for a second after letting Caleb in (my b) and he ran down to the basement and freed the cattle I had added to my household, the cattle yelled "freeedooom" and ran up the stairs but didn't leave the house or the household. So he just became my nanny until he died from old age two days later (I actually made him cattle to prevent him dying from old age, I wasn't ready to say good bye to Don Lothario!) Otherwise, I'm actually enjoying playing with vamps again, haven't done that in a while. Thank you! Now I'm gonna try and find the vampire engagement ring lol

This mod doesn't override the "manipulate life-spirit" interaction anymore, it's all custom now, you can totally avoid using the Cattle function.

The only suggestion I can make to improve this mod for the next version is that I wished that freed cattle had after effects. It's a pretty horrendous experience to be cattle and I think they would have random fears, and other moods ie anger, sadness- for quite a while afterwards. They wouldn't just get over it once they were freed.I even set up a rehabilitation house for them lol.

I've been playing with this a while, and it really transforms game play. especially the autonomy and cattle functions. So many aspects of this mod so well thought out- thank you.The only problem I had was with cattle added as roommates sometimes disappearing. Not as reliable an option as when cattle are added to household.

about the cattle, I turned one sim into cattle but she had constantly terrified buff many days and she kept only crying from fear and did nothing else, I come tired from it, I dont see it useful at all, if they cant live and do anything else except crying??

The fight that happens as a reaction is a custom one and it's always a "slay vampire with garlic", meaning the non vampire is advantaged from the beginning. The vampire usually wins the same, but still has a fairly high chance of being slayed. Since I still used maxis outcome, what happens to the vampire depends if you have a mod that modifies that outcome like mine to make the vampire die with the vampire cure, in that case the vampire dies; if you have vanilla outcome the vampire is cured from vampirism. As for the installation, if you saved since you removed the old mod, then the new version is safe to install without further steps. The new fear is completely custom, so no it will not create a conflict.

Thanks-so glad to try this again. Some quick questions. What happens when another sim fights a vampire after seeing them kill someone? Is it a fight to the death? What will help a non vampire sim win against a vampire? Also, I had this mod in my game previously and play in one save. I removed it months ago. Do I need to do anything special when re-installing it? Lastly, I have mod that removed all fears because EA made them SO annoying. Will this create a conflict with the Vampire mod, because you are introducing a new fear?

Can happen some times, especially if you have a lot of mods in game and the script is falling behind, that's why I put two cheats to fix problems like this. Enable testingcheats on, shift click on the cattle and from my cheats menu select "free cattle"

One of my sims cattle, a genius, kept getting the idea of making a cure potion and "slaying" her vampire. As level 4 she got everything together, talked her master into getting a bar. Master paid no attention to the garden and had no idea what was in the fridge. Fighting wasn't going to work out, so she formed a group with master and got him to drink the potion. We reloaded the save. With the vampire cured, my cattle found that she was still a cattle, but the once vampire couldn't do anything about it. Because he didn't allow socializing, she couldn't even speak to anyone.

hello. asking on behalf of a friend who can't comment on your posts: she says that the option for vampires to bite other vampires is no longer an option, and it was a very important aspect in her gameplay. was removing it an oversight or a deliberate choice, and if it's the latter, maybe you could return it as an addon or something?

I don’t understand why I can’t turn sims into cattle or a deadly drink on sims it just grayed out saying my vampire sim regained humanity I don’t understand what that means
