I guess I need to share what's happening...

Since it cannot be avoided any more, it's time to say out loud what's going on. My cat of 15 years has been living with Chronic Kidneys Disease since he was 3, he got to the normal cats lifespan now and started feeling worse in the past few months. Now it's the time the veterinary said we need to get ready, so I'll keep not being active much in modding for a bit more, after 15 years a part of me is dying with him, I want to enjoy the time we've left and I need to accept his death and my own. I might still be writing and building if that helps me taking my mind off and process my feelings, but I just don't have the mind to do mods right now.

I'm so very sorry to see/hear this. May you be blessed in your hard times. I know how awful and devastating losing a furbaby is.

Christina White

Wishing you both a peaceful time together. It's such a profound heartbreak and I hope no one is making demands on your time. Be well.

SJ

Sending best wishes to you and your cat! I can only imagine how hard this must be for you! Please focus on taking the time you need to be there with your kitty!

Take all the time you need! My only way of coping with depression was taking care of stray cats. In the past month, I lost two of my stray babies. It felt even worse because I had talked with the shelter and association I collaborate with to be their foster mum until we found a home for them while they got better. It felt stupid at first to cry the amount I cried "just for cats", but those cats were like my own kids. I've been pampering my baby, who I rescued 3 years ago and is now living rent-free in my life the way he should. Sending you as many warm hugs as I can offer and small smoochies to your little furry baby :'(

Mine MacGrath

Sending you both lots of love from me and my four kitties, Polaris, Kismet, Amity and Luna 😻

I totally feel that. My cat got sick with chronic pancreatitis when she was 3, too, and always got her times where we had to take her to the vet because she stopped eating etc. Then, around 2 years later it wouldnt get better until we found out that she ALSO has problems with her kidney. She almost died so young. Now she's better, but I'm always scared it could go downhill so fast again. I already lost one very old cat, I know how it feels. Take your time, I hope he's better for now. Dont stress yourself, only play and mod if it helps you. :)

Im very sorry your cat is sick. It is never an easy thing to go though. keeping u and ur kitty in my thoughts.

Take care of yourself and your fur baby. I'm so sorry you're going through this, the loss of a life-long companion is always hard. You take your time and enjoy these precious moments together. We're not going anywhere. <3

Sorry to hear that - we can wait, just take care!!!

Perlenoire77Chan

Take your time. We’re not going anywhere. ❤️

Wretched Being

First of all, I'm so sorry, and I know what you're going through right now. The cat I grew up with started to get liver problems at the age of 17. It was a slow process, so we kinda kept our hopes up but also knew what was about to come at the same time. We eventually had to put him down to release him from his pain. It was a tough time. That being said, I'm very glad your cat has started eating again, and I hope he will recover fully. Still, cherish every moment with him and take all the time you need. The mods, as great as they are, can wait. Lots of love and all the best wishes to both you and your cat. 🌸

This is one of the hardest things to go through. So long as he is willing to fight and live, enjoy your time with him. I've been through it, too. My big boy went through UTIs when he was a kit. It is scary. I don't look forward to the day when I face his mortality, but I'll be with him every step of the way until he is done. Lots of love to you and your baby boy.

I didn't expect to get so many messages, and I can't reply each one, but I'm very thankful to all of you! I also have a bit of a (good) update. So, my cat started feeling weak about a week ago, we're used to it by now because he's been having these moments for two years and that's when we usually start a 3 days fluids therapy like the vet suggested us to do, he usually recovers in the span of one/ one and half day. This time he didn't, he stopped eating completely Saturday evening. We monitored him and hand fed him all Sunday, took him to the vet on Monday, when he gave us no hopes, but he took his temperature, and since he had no fever, he told us to try and wait 48 hours to see if he started eating again, if he didn't, we should have started considering euthanasia because that was going to mean that the cat had given up himself. At that point he was already 24h in with barely any food, the vet gave him fluids, vitamins, an anti-acid and sent us home. We kept hand feeding him all Monday, he started being a bit more reactive but still barely attempting to leave my sister's room (that's the hearth of his territory, and since I have another younger cat, he wasn't feeling safe leaving his nest). Yesterday, about 2 hours after I posted this, we went out to buy him some food we know he loves. When we came home, we tried feeding him minced meat, and he started eating again on his own, and out of my sister's bedroom. He kept eating normally and on his own all day, and seems to be recovering. I'm still NOT getting my hopes up, he still needs fluids and care but we now started thinking that gastritis more than the kidneys was giving him pain and nausea and making him unable to eat physically, he never lost appetite. He's still a 15 years old cat who was given for death at 3 years old when the kidneys crisis started, and he's still only eating minced meat and not his prescribed diet, but he's also an hell of a fighter and proved it over and over again. As long as he fights we fight with him. He's going to the vet again on Thursday to see how he's going, and how the kidneys are going after this.

Jordan

Take your time, focus on you and cherish this time as you wish. My condolences.

We just lost our Kitty to bladder cancer. My heart feels for you. It is so difficult. Take care.

Mendota Kelly

Give him an extra smooch from me. And feel hugged. <3 I can't imagine what it must be like, losing someone so close after such a long time. You know, that the right people will wait as long as you need to take your time. Fu** off to the others. :)

I’m so sorry to hear about your kitty. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your kitty.

It’s never easy loosing a loved one, just always remember the good times. Be there for him and enjoy the time you have left him and comfort him. Take time to grieve and heal I know from my own personal experiences how challenging of a time this can be. Those around you can be a great support system. My prayers are with you.

Mark Gunishaw

Take your time <3

Oh no so sorry to hear this!! That's why I've wanted a cat my entire life but have never gotten a pet. I feel like at some point I know they will pass on and I won't be able to cope with their lost. I have friends who lost pets and it's a very hard loss. Sorry about your cat😔😔 you should take the time you need

Angel

Hey please take your time. I can't imagine how it feel like... I have my cat since she was a baby and now she is 10. She is my absolute everything. I was depressed in my 20s and she saved my life twice, so I owe her everything. I feel with you.

I understand loosing a family pet is heartbreaking. Virtual hugs 💙

After well over 100+ kitties I have had to watch go over the Rainbow Bridge in my life (grew up in a show cats/breeder family) I understand. ❤️

Jacqueline Vatore

I feel your pain. I had a 15 year-old kitty I had to put to rest earlier this year. Take your time to process the feelings, and if you need someone to talk to, I'm here.

True AI

Omg that made me cry. That was so beautiful. And so true. Some of you dies with them, some of them lives on in you. Ugh. My heart! *Hugs* Much love! Cuddle with your baby while you can. On my kitten’s last day I got him nice and comfy in his favorite blanket and I audio recorded about 4 minutes of him purring. When I’m like really upset or stressed, I listen to it and it’s like he’s still here, soothing me. ❤️

Anna Garcia

Thanks

Jordan

thanks Anna, 5 months will always feel unnatural, 15 it's natural death, he lived a long life, I don't want him to be scared, just the most comfortable, happy and loved he can be during his last time on earth. Confronting the part of you that goes with them and knowing that you'll still survive with that part gone is far harder, but there is also a part of them that'll never die as long as you're alive, so it goes both ways, some of you dies with them, some of them keeps living with you.

Jordan

hey, sending you love.. I know its hard, and don't worry.. take your time to grieve, okay? I lost my cat due to kidney related issue too.. he died while he was still a kitten less than a year old... hope you'll be okay, we care for you too!! *hugs

Terry Lasagna

thank you.

Jordan

I´m sorry to hear that. Take your time for your family member. May you have all the strength you need in this challenging time.

I’m so so sorry for you and your baby. I lost a kitten of only 5 months old and it killed me. I’ve lost 2 cats I had each for 19 years. It was so so hard. Now I have two 8yr old littermate sisters, three 1 year old boys & one 1 year old girl. I look at the 2 eldest and dread the day they’re gone. I hope they live another 10 years. And these young ones, I literally can’t even imagine them as old cats. I feel your pain. Kidneys are rough. One of the ones I lost after 19 years went thru that at the end and I couldn’t stand to see her suffer but you don’t want to let go. Just take your time. Your real life is so much more important than any game. ❤️

Anna Garcia

Take all the time you need… my prays are with you 💜
