How the Idles Bork The Game
Added 2021-03-18 14:20:41 +0000 UTCLet's see how Vanilla game, with no mods, runs. Before looking at the video, here are my graphic settings:

DON'T FORGET: my PC is a desktop but it's a 5 years old (if not more) potato I bought with 400 euro (and that's the max I'm willing to spend on a PC, you're reading something written by someone who doesn't have a TV in his room, used a Nokia N73 until the other day and had a 2009 laptop with Windows Vista until 5 years ago {I still have it honestly}).
I have everything pretty high. So, here is the game with no mods or CCs, it goes pretty smooth... but pay attention to them talking to each other:
Now let's see what happens if I tune down the Idles, once again, pay attention to them talking:
I only put one file in my mod folder:

And this file only has one tuning inside, and I changed only two numbers from this to this.
It didn't stop the idles, but it makes them less likely to happen, and no other modifications are needed, no lag fixes are needed, another thing that is not needed are 2000 mods to remove idles, because you can click them off and on as you like on the fly with SCAM:

go under "currently running autonomy" and they're pretty easy to find, unclick them and save. You can turn them on again if you want them again (don't turn off Idle chatting, since RoM patch, turning it off prevents sims from socializing)

___
The tuning I used in the video is shared below. This is set to 80/20 as for my taste, but I think it can be set with other numbers. Conflicts with my old one "Improved Autonomy" so if you have that, replace it with this one.

It helps because reduces the amount of mixer interactions belonging to the group IDLE that the sims can play. There are a lot, even inside buffs, that run also when a sim is just standing. By giving them more time between one run and the other, you reduce the annoyances, they don't pile up, and don't bork the game.

2021-03-22 15:09:44 +0000 UTCI don’t know why but this mod help me for a stable 120+ fps in livemode. It helps too with my dropping queues (with autonomy off). I only use two mods, at the moment, this and another for the bug with always on bat/mist/running by NPC-Vampire. Thank you, I think I never played sims so smooth since a while. Thank you very much.

2021-03-22 14:27:32 +0000 UTCAbsolutely not... It's by scumbumbo. You can find it on scumbumbo site (or it's actually included in MCCC but I still use the original)

2021-03-20 09:29:35 +0000 UTCWith SCAM? No shift, just click on the floor and select control autonomy. If you enable control autonomy you can also click on an object and bring up all the autonomous interactions attached to it

2021-03-19 03:29:16 +0000 UTCI posted it a while ago, but I can add it to this post too since it needed updating anyway and the old post was more a DIY kind of thing. That's tuned to my liking, it doesn't stop the idles, I like to see them sometimes... The ones I don't like I either turn off in Scam or remove them... Just I don't like them to run 300 times in the span of 30 minutes, I also don't like sims to go idle chatting 3 times in a row as you can see in the first video.

2021-03-18 15:49:30 +0000 UTCI just turn off the ones that really annoy me... Which are the ones with a higher weight like the mermaid ones, the vampire growling one, some other related to specific buffs like the environment one and so on... As you play and catch them, with SCAM is pretty easy to just turn them off. Actually I have the emotion idles on, with the modification I did to than file they don't run so often to annoy me... Eco Lifestyle ones are far more annoying even when they're tuned down globally.

2021-03-18 15:47:43 +0000 UTCThank you for the tip! I didn't realize how much idles slowed down the game. Are there any specific idles you recommend to turn off for better performances, aside from the pretty obvious emotion_idle?
