They leaned very much into it this episode. Nice homage to Looney Tunes but a bit out of place. Ahhh okay. I feel itโs like MLP where we just donโt get much make ponies. I know the creators are women but damn I want some males ๐. But definitely a progressive idea for sure

I can still appreciate it though for Peridotโs growth. The season starts kinda slow/more slice of life bc thereโs a big arc at the later half of the season it builds up to. As for why all the gems are female, technically the gems donโt actually have a gender or sex, theyre all just referred to and present as female because Rebecca Sugar wanted to flip the trope of alien races being mainly masculine-presenting, and have the one boy as a main character. So yeah, technically Steven is the only โmaleโ gem, or even the first gem to have an actual gender/sex lol.
