Here is a little bit more explanation from the novel. You seem to think that Fujou killed the other 7 girls, but that is not what happened, or at least she wasn't trying to be malicious. The other girls were subconsciously flying in their sleep (subconscious ESP powers). The only thing Fujou did was waking them up by talking to them. Once they woke up and realized they are in the air, they fell to their death because everyone thinks human can't fly. That is why Tokou had that conversation with Fujou in the hospital, and why Tokou said the line after the ED.

2025-11-07 20:13:30 +0000 UTCOk, as always I'm going to explain without any spoilers. 1. First of all, the number fo movies. I will leave the list of movies here. There are a total of 11 but one of those is a compilation movie, so that one you don't need to watch it. Kara no Kyoukai = The Garden of Sinners -Kara no Kyoukai 1: Overlooking View -Kara no Kyoukai 2: Murder Speculation (First Half) -Kara no Kyoukai 3: Remaining sense of pain -Kara no Kyoukai 4: Hollow Shrine -Kara no Kyoukai 5: Spiral Paradox -Kara no Kyoukai 6: Oblivion Recorder -Kara no Kyoukai Remix: Gate of the Seventh Heaven (Don't watch this one, just a compilation movie) -Kara no Kyoukai 7: Murder Speculation (Second Half) -Kara no Kyoukai 8: Epilogue -Kara no Kyoukai: Future Gospel -Kara no Kyoukai: Future Gospel - Extra Chorus 2. Second, if you're confused, don't worry. The Garden of Sinners is a mystery, so you should be confused. That's the idea. Just make sure to pay attention to the dates that the movies gives you and the events they mention. That would help you navigate through this. This movie for example takes place in August-September of 1998. Also, yeah, the only correct order to watch this movies is release order just like you said. So everything good there. 3. Ok, so know I will explain some concepts that the movie presents. Don't worry, this will not contain spoilers. People often think that the exposition of the movie is philosophical trash, but is actually worldbuilding. The first one are Ghosts: Touko explained that when the memory of the being "desynchronized" with the body after death a ghost is born. The remaining thought of the person, their mind/spirit remains in this world. that's what those girls were. Second is when she explain about perception and how what we see is just what our brain interprets based on the information the eyes send. This is very important. So the thing of Fujou Kirei is that she woke her power after seeing that overlooking view for years. This is another thing that Touko explained. That when you see that far scenary you can see things different. And finally, the Fujou Buildings are like a whole block of the city. That's why the police didn't have a huge control over there. 4. Now I'm going to explain like some plot devices the story use to tell you something. -The coffe, you see, every time Shiki and Touko drink some coffe they are disgusted. That's because Mikiya is the one that makes the good coffe. So this was meant to tell you that he wasn't doing the coffe for some reason. -The scene where Mikiya told Shiki "You're a woman". Some could mistakengly think that this was sexism. But is important to know the context of why this scene exists. The Garden of Sinners was originally a Novel. In a Novel you don't have visuals or voices that can give you hints of what is Shiki's sex. In the first chapter of the novel (aka what this movie adapted) the sex of Shiki is unkown because she refers to herself with male pronouns (in japanese) and is also described as androgynous. Her sex is one of the mysteries of this chapter. So this scene of Mikiya confirming that she is female is the answer to said mystery. Unfortunately in the adaptation this was completely lost. 5. Kalafina was actually formed to give the Garden of Sinner an OST and songs. So this is their very first work. Without the Garden of Sinners Kalafina wouldn't even exist. This was also the first time Ufotable used their characteristic style of colors and 3D in the animation. And the first collaboration between Type-Moon (Fate creators) and Ufotable. So this anime is actually pretty important for the industry in general. 6. Almost every movie have an after-credit scene. So make sure to watch those until the end. 7. Finally, this was one of Kinoko Nasu's first works. Written back in 1998. So yeah, he is making fun of himself when Mikiya says that it sounds like a cheap novel. Cuz it actually was a cheap web novel XD. Well, I hope I made a good explanation. I'm looking forward to this reaction, so see you in the next one! And don't worry, you can laugh if you want, no one is gonna judge you.

2025-11-07 18:33:33 +0000 UTCUuuuuhhh that will be a GREAT rewatch! Back when I was very unexperienced with Anime and my ex girlfriend tried to get me into it with Studio Ghibly Animes. I randomly choose it because I liked the cover and at first, it was sooo confusing to me. But then, I really loved it. So as one of the first where I learned to love subbed anime, this will always have a special spot in my heart. I just had no clue that it is connected to other media...

2025-11-07 18:32:09 +0000 UTCWe finally arrived at Nasu being overly philosophical over the most random and mundane shaist. In this episode, the concept of height. Even with this, we will never be able to get as high as Nasu was while writing these novels.
