Both Cap eating a lot and having a weak knee when she was young are from the actual horse. She was born having knee issues and couldn't even stand. She had knee surgery after her birth and the owner took special care to her legs. The part of the mom massaging her legs was a reference to this.

Oguri's team IRL has said that he basically did nothing but eat and sleep, that he'd eat way more feed than most horses could and then would keep eating weeds and whatever else he could find outside of dinnertime. I've heard people say it's because his mom didn't have a lot of milk, so he developed a habit of eating all the time to compensate, but apparently there's no real source for that so it might just be a rumor. Oguri being a glutton is definitely true to life, though.

2025-10-03 17:04:22 +0000 UTCThis is technically a prequel. Basically right after Rudolph's racing career. The other girl with Rudolph and maruzensky at the beginning is Mr. C. B, the horse who got the triple crown before Rudolph. Belno light and March are both based on regional horses oguri raced. Belno light was actually Twin bee, which can't be used because of copyright with a videogame company. But she has the two B's in her hair as tribute. I forget March's irl name, but she was strong.
