If I had $1,000, I'd pay that to anyone who could figure out the reason for those "suitors" by the end of the anime. This is not a spoiler in any way. Just one of the reasons this is the best anime ever made.

The dude breaks down the insane amount of imagery, symbolism, metaphor, and crazy important details throughout the anime. Most of it, you can't know until you see it a second time, or at least after what it hinted at or foreshadowed.
