I know that the story didn't feel like it could possibly end without Teio winning. And your not wrong... if she did, how does this season end without it being depressing? And yet, this show has stuck to it's guns time and time again... that the results are the ACTUAL RESULTS of the real life horses that raced. So even when all of the flags point to this only being Teio's win... you still have in the back of your mind the knowledge that if this is based on real events... it's just so unimaginable for her to just suddenly win after such a long hiatus without running. And then she really does win. Which means that Tokai Teio, the actual horse, also won the Arima Kinen as it's *RETURN* race... after a year long hiatus and MULTIPLE fractures and muscle injuries. A truly incredible story. It really makes the setup of the show that "A miracle would have to happen" actually pay off. Because it really is a miracle. Also, I agree wholeheartedly that the commentator really elevates the victory scene so much as she commentates Biya Hiyahide vs Tokai Teio at the end.... and that is also pulled basically straight from the race. The commentator in real life GOES CRAZY. Truly incredible.
