Oh my God has it been eighteen days since I posted something?! Since I said I was trying to get back in the saddle?!

It's fuckin' hard out here, y'all. I'm not gonna bother belaboring the point, it is what it is. I'm just gonna move on to introducing this story.

This started out its life as a scrapped plot thread for Give Yourself to Me. I was playing around with the idea of Lily sort of "adopting" another partner sort of switchy partner who she'd shrink, but not as much as Tom. You can sort of see the direction I originally had in mind in the Beth/Joyce/Ted relationship in Performance Improvement Plan. Ended up not going with it, but some of the ideas that I had for interactions have stuck with me all this time so I went ahead and spun it out into its own short story.
