What Just HAPPENED?! | Symphogear Episode 4 REACTION

Tsubasa seems way too eager to pull that trigger poor girl...

32:22 Recognize the video game? Think...fireball move that some folks spam over and over again.

31:30 Is it just me, or does this feel like a season finale? πŸ˜‹

23:50 Ya know, I never understand why, when a character says "Yes," the subtitles almost always write out that they say something else. Why? Yes works just fine, and it's not bullshite. Like, when "onee-shan" gets changed to a character's name. Like we won't understand who they're talking to? Lolz

19:30 Nice point, Mat. Now, perhaps the after effects are different because Kanade forced her artificial Attunement, where as Tsubasa naturally came into her's. Kanade required medical adjustment, bodily damage, and lots of effort to become who she was when she went all Thanos Snapped. That all likely made her more vulnerable to any recoil or reaction to singing THAT song. Eh?

4:10 Well...I'm Texan, so I tend to use "fuck" like a comma. Swearing/cussing is so integrated into my vernacular, it actually makes me uncomfortable watching so many animes without a single "Darn you, you butt!" or something. When an anime DOES give me that intense expression of emotions through vocabulary, it really feels like a gold star is earned. I grew up as a steelworker biker's kid, and I'm highly emotional, for good and bad, so the colourful language is usually the only way I can feel I've truly expressed what I want to say. So, so, so damn many anime characters experience incomprehensible, unspeakable, unforgivable fates, yet we don't hear a single expletive from their mouth? Immersion broken. My typical playful "Hello" to close friends would get me banned from most restaurants that you can't wear a wifebeater into. So, if I'm an anime MC, and my arm gets cut off, you better belive I'd be educating everyone around just how "foul" language can be! I wouldn't put it past subtitle creators to exhibit similar thought processes when translating.

Kanade DID say Gungnir! Every Symphogear user has their own incantation to activate their gear that is unique to them even among two users of the same relic like Kanade and Hibiki. But it always contains the name of the relic their Symphogear was made from.

Everyone gets caught up in Hibiki’s death flags they don’t notice all the other flags.

I mentioned Tsubasas age before, so Kanade was born on the 28th of July 2023 and was 17 when the concert happened. As such was 2 years older than Tsubasa, yes. Just to get the other birthdays out of the way, Hibiki 13th of September 2027 (13 at the concert, 15 at the start of Season 1) and Miku born 7th of November 2027 (also 13 at the concert and 15 at the start of Season 1).

I love the Bruce lee reference and the karaoke singing in Hibiki's training montage with Genjuurou!
