You talked about Madoka's potential, but Kyubey mentioned that in regards to her wish and power as a Magical Girl. She is already a Magical Girl in Magia Record, so there should be no further "mystical empowering" for Ms. Ex-MC. Of course, Homura becoming a Magical Girl can only happen because Madoka needs "saving," so the whole "time travel/prevent the end of the world" plot still stands. If a Magia Record expert could response to my ignorance to better clarify the truth, I'd be extremely grateful.

Many girls voluntarily joined the Wings of Magius because they are weak and the idea of saving themselves and not becoming witches is very tempting for them, so they don't think about it much and join. This is more or less the case of Mifuyu and Mami, who although the latter is very strong in skills, mentally she always tends to fall into despair more easily (although now it could also be said that she is half possessed, but at the beginning she wasn't). In the case of Sana, I think she always had her doubts about joining but it seemed that she wanted to accompany Felicia and see that she is okay. About Tsuruno, it will be explained later. And about Homura, I also considered it as one of her first iterations in her time travels, and I think it fits well. But I read somewhere else that the original anime takes place in a universe with its own timelines and this anime takes place in a different universe with its own timelines although in the end they have many things in common. If that's true, then even if it seems like it, this Homura is not the same Homura as in the original anime but they have more or less lived through quite similar things, but I think those are also theories and I don't know if it's officially explained anywhere. I suppose the game would also be a different universe because it's very different from the anime version.
