A New Beginning | MADOKA MAGICA Episode 12 REACTION

I need to recover from this for a bit...

Comments

yep. madoka became so powerful (she's a god soooo) she could see all the past timelines and the all future timelines and chose this timeline bc it satisfied everyone's wish the best. If i remember correctly she even messed with homura's wish (it couldn't really exist now could it) and her powers.

It is kinda hilarious that anyone would have stopped following this series with the original animr, seeing as how Walpurgisnacht Rising is said to be a new beginning to something further in the story of our Holy Quintet and Co. It's fine for them to miss out, I suppose, but I will be scarfing up every drop of PMMM media I can. It took me FAR too long to finally enjoy this anime. Though, I'm a bit hypocritical there, as I have had Madoka Exedra installed on my phone since release day, yet I have been far too busy to commit time to play it.

26:45 I don’t see this being proof of anything to do with timelines. This would seem, if anything, like a singular timeline was the medium being worked with, and Madoka’s wish rewrote all of Mankind’s history with the process of Magical Girls. This next scene would hint at timelines being irrelevant now, as Homura “never” was going back in time, because there “never” was a loved one to go save.

Well if you want to watch another magical girls there's an anime called Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru, maybe you could react to it one day

"if someone says it's wrong to have hope, I'll tell them they're wrong every single time." What a quote. Also another episode I always cry to. Hey now the op applies both to madoka and homura! Also you should check out the lyrics to the Ed in episode 1. Theory is it's madoka after becoming godoka. And yea magical girls still exist, just that madoka takes on all their despair so they can die peacefully (she's basically magical girl Jesus). For rebellion I highly recommend doing a separate "final thoughts" video after digesting it for a few days. (Of course after a normal reaction vid cuz we want that first impression) There's a lot to take in with the movie. Theory for homura is that she basically exists outside the timeline bc of her magic. Hence why she was able to follow madoka and remember madoka. Tho it is also a theory that madoka messed with her wish. But those are just theories.

The funny thing about the OP and ED is that, the OP is very bubbly SOUNDING but when you read the actual lyrics, it becomes a very bittersweet/sad song. In contrast, the ED is very dark/sinister SOUNDING but if you read the actual lyrics, it's actually a very hopeful song. Not sure if anyone else brought this up, but I thought the end of ep 12 is a good place to finally bring it up. -------- With Madoka's new wish, she took into account EVERYTHING she learned throughout the series before deciding on it. All the pain, sorrow, loss, and despair she felt in the first 11 episodes led her directly towards this wish. BECAUSE Homura told Madoka about her wish to protect her and the amount of times she reset to save her, she considered ALL timelines in her wish. BECAUSE Kyubey taught her about the past and their direct involvement with human progression, she KNEW she couldn't outright delete the magical girl system OR the girls' desires to make a wish. She instead made sure that there was still despair in the world that would still push the girls of history to still want to make their wishes, BECOME magical girls, and then remove them from the world when their time to become a witch was supposed to occur. In that moment, what SHOULD be "witches" are instead replaced by "wraiths" to maintain the history of the original timeline in some semblance. Her wish isn't to outright save magical girls from the trauma of BEING one, but rather to become their salvation when their role in the universe AS a magical girl is over. In her conversation with Sayaka during the Kyousuke scene, Madoka tells her that she can potentially save Sayaka (basically create a timeline where Sayaka DOESNT wish for Kyousuke's recovery) but if she does, then the future Sayaka wished for (a future where Kyousuke can play) wouldn't be realized and that's why Sayaka is still dead in the new timeline. Mami and Kyouko being alive in this current timeline makes sense because they both died prematurely in witch battles. To Madoka, any and all magical girls in the distant past that are significant to "progress" WILL still die in a similar way as the original timeline, but the recent past/present she can be lenient with them, as seen with Kyouko and Mami. -------- As for the NEW movie: I'm pretty sure the movie will be airing in theaters during the winter months of 2024 in Japan, with a 2-4 month buffer period to premier the movie into global theaters with English subs. There will be ANOTHER 2-4 month buffer period to release the movie onto streaming platforms afterwards. That's kind of been the way most anime movies release outside of Japan as of late so it's most likely going to follow that formula.

No magical girls are still magical girls what you saw medoka do was basically finishing them off, her wish was no witches so now their soul gems just dissappear without turning into grief seeds.
