Traditional to most anime maybe but love lives allways used a preformance as op remember first season had their encore preformance , sesson two had another big stage preformance and if remember right so did both sunshine seasons so its more a love live tradition well not even that seems be a idol show tradition to have some preformance in the op

Btw you can become an idol even if you are a grade schooler. You can watch/react to Selection Project. Here you can see grade schooler, middle schooler, and high schooler competing to become an idol. You can watch/react to D4DJ if you want to see idol x girl band disguised as DJs and remixing existing songs. I like the scene when Keke says "I hate you, and I like you" Chisato is a bit angry because Kanon didn't tell Chisato when he went to Hokkaido.
