Loved this one! I hope by podcast 3, I'll be holding your official "Let's think sip by sip" mug in my hands. That's coming - right? 😂 Jokes aside, I wonder if you can share some personal things about you! Such as, what do/did you do outside of AI Explained, what's your background, etc!

2024-01-07 22:04:18 +0000 UTCWonderful Podcast. So many great points that resonate. Like how you are thinking along the Lines of "Signal to noise" and going for the hist ratio possible. Your sharing of Risk of burnout for both creators but also consumers of AI news imho super important. Made me reflect more on this again, and being more concious about which info sources in what frequency with what level of attention on my side I should consume. Fantastic share btw. with regard to "The cognitive revolution". Looks like awesome content and the type I am enjoying more (longer form, deeper think , as opposed to fast food hype content). So again... please do more of your musings and thoughts... I love your nuanced thinking and mature POV in the #FOMO, #Hype AI jungle.

2024-01-06 12:14:08 +0000 UTCEditing is about 4 hours per video, depends, can be less if fewer interview clips involved. Reading is almost all the time, there are so many papers to get through every week! Wake up is like 7.30, then walk, then working 8ish. Some days done by 4, more often 6, 8 or even 10pm. No typical days really! Great questions :)

2024-01-06 12:14:02 +0000 UTCGreat content, thank you! I was wondering, in a more practical level, how you divide your time. Ie when do you get up, how much time do you spend reading and when, editing, etc. Is there a typical day for you, and if so what does it look like on an hour by hour basis workwise? Always interested to learn from other peoples work habits. Thanks for your great work!

2024-01-06 12:10:28 +0000 UTCI feel like social media is a big contributor to the feeling of doom nowadays. Anyways, I quit Twitter and now also Threads. Too much noise, I especially got sick about hatespeech and in the context of AI the never-ending discussion about AI art feel so pointless. No honest discourse, mostly just polemics. I blocked everything, but the algorithm throws it back into my face again and again because it doesn't understand that I want to read about AI research and not about AI drama.

2024-01-04 10:52:58 +0000 UTCGreat question. We need to find practical ways to optimise that higher order motivation/visualisation. For me it is fairly natural, and has improved with age, but will mull on that one, thank you.

2024-01-04 10:52:11 +0000 UTCThis is why I follow. I don’t need the news, I largely don’t like it. I just want the facts and you are excellent at just providing the information without a biased opinion. I have been working in AI since 2016 and the past year is truly the first time I have been really excited and can’t wait to 2024. Thanks for all the hard work.

2024-01-04 04:07:34 +0000 UTCThis is why I follow you. Great podcasts. Thank you for providing such a great "Insider Information". I also see the maturity and professionalism in your approaches regarding AI progress. I also feel we are watching the coolest Movie in real time. I need to reflect where we are in the timeline of human history and you motivate me into deep thought about it. There is so much noise around AI as you mentioned so your research and filtering the best and reliable resources is so much appreciated. Again, Thanks for podcast and you also have a wonderful day!!

2024-01-04 03:32:05 +0000 UTCThank you for the great podcast! I think the most important part for me is how you motivate yourself to care about AI developments via reasoning. Many people (including me) work in fields where the impact is less tangible, and you actually have to think in second/third order consequences to get to where the relevant "impact" really happens to real people. While this can be effective at times, I feel that for me it is not so reliable in the day-to-day work and does not necessarily translate to actually always feeling/internalizing that impact. Does it come naturally to you when researching about AI? I guess more motivation to more people would be great for the world!

2024-01-03 18:04:33 +0000 UTCThank you for another thoughtful podcast. I appreciate you generously sharing your video development process and insights. What I enjoy about your summaries is that you present timely, relevant information in an easy-to-understand manner. Your presentation of the information comes across as objective and balanced. Although it was a bit of a digression, I also valued (and shared) your perspectives on social media pitfalls. I also enjoyed the analogy you drew between reading papers and watching movies. In fact, my household genuinely anticipates your new episode notifications as we are eager to learn how this important story will unfold. We are so grateful that you broadly share your insights and learnings with the community. Wishing you all the best in 2024 and look forward to your next podcast and video.
