Update 14 Preview - Small changes

Not all things that change during updates are big new art pieces or new scenes. Every Update also usually comes with a couple of small bits and bobs that I had the time to fix/refine.
So why don't we sit down for a sec to see what small bits and bobs those will be for Update 14?

First off, I've sat down to adjust the tail animations to cut down on the loading times.
Renpy has a bit of an odd animation system, so unfortunately animations can very easily lead to pretty noticable load times, particularly when fast-forwarding. Renpy does try to pre-load files, but especially when you're skipping it's just going too fast for these animations to be cached in time, leading to rather noticeable hitching.

So for Update 14 there will be two changes there, one is just simply cutting down on some frames where i felt we could afford it. And the second change is that when fast-forwarding, the animations simply won't be loaded. So you won't have these hitches while skipping. It's not perfect, for example if you hit a decision point the game unpauses, so those are the points where the animations do get loaded, but i think those points where it would halt anyway make it less noticable and just a smoother experience.

Second adjustment is to the NSFW/Blood toggles. They will be persistent to the game going forward, rather than to the specific save. 
Again just a case where I wasn't particularly smart when implementing it initially (plus it at the time being a pretty tricky thing for me to do in he first place), so it was wonky!
That should be solved now though, and rather than being save-specific, the options will just be persistent at all times going forward.
Along with that, the prompt about those two options, and the whole "H"/swipe to hide the text at the beginning of a new game will also only appear once. And once you've seen it, it won't appear on subsequent new starts.


Yeah, small things, but sometimes you just need them to smooth out those rough edges. :D

Yeah, it's always a bit of a back and forth, or bringing in new stuff, that new stuff being done badly and then a few months later clean it up a bit to bring in new stuff that needs cleaning :D

It's a smart decision you take here ! so the update 14 should be an update bringing less resources consumption and more fluidity . perfect for prep the ground for more contents. cleaning and optimisation of code is a hard labor, but quality is the reward. so... thanks Nomax !
