In terms of art influences I'm taking cues from stuff like Close Encounters of The Third Kind, Alien, The Fly, H.P. Lovecraft etc.

2020-12-07 12:48:58 +0000 UTCWhoa! Seriously? Intruders' story is basically aliens kidnapping and experimenting women and thus impregnating them in order to repopulate its nearly-extincted alien race. The "living machine" panel and the marking on the ear are quite similar to a scene in Intruders.

2020-12-07 05:23:54 +0000 UTCYou have to remember those aliens may understand "love" in a very different way than we humans do. :D Never seen Intruders, but real life alien abduction cases are a huge inspiration (obviously) and abductees often report this sense of eerie serenity and tenderness even as they are kidnapped and experimented on, a contrast which I find very compelling.
