So I remember drawing Jintu's room the first time and it was a nightmare so yes I intentionally changed some things that contributed to the original headache. Concentric circles are the bane of my existence. I made his room too big before. Basically he has an actual huge bedroom but he moved his bed into this now-cramped study and I don't think I conveyed it as well originally. Everything looks brighter now and I toned down the details in the background because in all honesty there was no need for it. Now if I have another scene in this room it won't be so daunting.

Somebody asked me at some point how I know if I should change something and I think I have a clear example here. In the original page 14 I have Rantu noticing his surroundings in a panel where his surroundings aren't shown, while using the major background shot to show him more or less oblivious. It really is important to have him reacting to things in the same panel and this is the type of shot that deserves more page real estate. I think these pages flow better this way. Also when I was working on the TQ reboot I was coming in fresh out of Persephone where the paneling was kept very simple. Layouts were almost exclusively three stacked panels per page. It took me a little bit to shake out of the habit and start putting more thought into my layouts.
