Sadly though, the emperor has a point there. It's a sad truth of human nature that when we lose something in the attempt, we think we need to try again so all we've lost isn't "wasted". People will say that pulling out now is disrespectful of those we've lost, ignoring the fact that the dead are dead either way, and the lives lost in generations of warfare to achieve something that could have been more easily achieved through diplomacy are already wasted. Even if the cause had been just, throwing away lives to avenge the lives of the last lot is still wasting lives, and it never ends. That won't stop some people from demanding it.

2020-04-17 05:42:33 +0000 UTCI LOVE that crosshatching to show anger or rage, especially how you use it to build and soften with the moods of characters, it's SO clever from a design standpoint and really helps to sell just how a character is feeling. Your handle on design is so spot on, AND your characters are all complex and exciting.
