This week, we’ve made significant strides in both visual enhancements and gameplay development across Soulcoom.
Lighting and Environmental Upgrades
We’ve transitioned to the Universal Render Pipeline (URP) to improve performance and rendering quality, particularly in lighting and shadows. Night lighting has been enhanced with deeper, more saturated blue tones for a richer atmosphere. We’ve also layered new tree and ground textures to create a more organic and vibrant environment.
Town and Hub World Expansion
Faewood has been expanded with fantasy-themed flora and integrated with the hideout, connecting the Hub World to the main game and setting up future game expansion. We’ve improved the spotlight with a radial gradient fade and fixed shader issues after transitioning to URP that have added a nice improvement to the lighting and color.
Many of the quests you see were created to test our quest system's functionality. There's no single linear story yet. Once the Hub World better reflects our artistic goals, we’ll shift focus back to writing the story and quest lines, along with developing new fantasy sex scenes as rewards.
FPP Model and Visual Improvements
Progress continues on the First-Person Perspective (FPP) model, with a new 3 slice technique being developed for realistic character turns, leaving room for the "Waxing" face, a 45 degree turned face, the next big design push in our future to give even more dramatic facial expressions and ahegao angles.

Thank you for sticking with us as we test out these new features. Our goal is to create a game with a rich, forest-like atmosphere, both visually and sonically. Achieving the right visual look has been challenging aspect, but the progress has been impressive. I believe the rest will fall into place smoothly from here.
Warm Regards,
