Devlog Update: Behind the Scenes with Clothing Development

Hello, and welcome back to another devlog. This week, we don’t have new build updates as our team is deeply engaged in finalizing several significant features that require extensive effort. However, I’m excited to share some behind-the-scenes progress on the clothing aspect of our game.

Progress on Clothing Poll and Development:

• Clothing Poll Update: With about two weeks left in the clothing poll, we've taken initiative based on the current leaders and developed some of the outfits that are favored by our community.

• Costume Preview: Currently, there are about 12 costumes ready to be integrated as soon as we launch our new vending area, which is right around the corner.

New Mechanics and Testing:

• Vending Area and Gameplay Mechanics: We're planning to introduce a vending area where players can purchase these outfits. This feature will be tied into the coming gameplay mechanics involving stamina, mana, and the day system.

• Testing Setbacks: During recent tests, some of the outfits did not perform as expected, leading us back to the drawing board to refine the designs.

A Shift in Art Direction:

• Learning from Drafts: While the current designs serve as an excellent starting point and rough draft, our next steps will involve a redesign that significantly enhances immersion and authenticity of the Mid-Sky world we are creating.

• Inspiration from Doujinshi: Moving forward, we will draw inspiration from the creative roots of our game; a doujinshi called; Bondage Fairies, to better align with the thematic elements of our world.

Future Design Focus:

• Cultural and Creative Approach: We are now shifting our focus to what fairies in their Mid-Sky world would realistically wear. Now that the mechanical nuts and bolts are in it's time to turn up the volume on these outfits.

Each costume went through the same kind of rigorous 1-2 week creative review, where we're sending the outfit back and forth trying to make it better and better. The maid one is the most popular one in the poll currently and easily my favorite However... The art in general was not living up to my expectations. It's a great start, but i'd like to re-do them all and raise the standard as high as I possibly can to bring you the best possible immersion, as the lore pieces continue to fall into place.
