Devlog Update: Questing and Messaging UI Enhancements

Hello everyone,

Today's update brings a major breakthrough in our server functionality and game size. We've also had significant advancements in the questing and messaging functionalities within our game, further enriching the player's interaction and engagement. Here’s a detailed look at what we've achieved and also a new poll.

Server Efficiency Breakthrough:

Dramatic Size Reduction: We've reduced the game's size from 7GB to approximately 600MB without losing quality, thanks to a new setting in Unity that optimizes storage and compression.

Questing UI Implementation

Quest Management: Quests are now fully integrated with the player’s data system, meaning they can be stored, saved, and loaded seamlessly.
UI Completion: The UI for questing is nearly complete. Players can now view all available quests, select them, and accept challenges directly through the interface.

Messaging System Updates

Functional Messaging UI: Players can access messages via the hideout menu. This system allows for full control over the equipment, genetics, and outline color of the model displayed in the portrait, as well as managing the sender, subject, content, and attachments of the message.
Archive System: Fully functional for storing, loading, and revisiting past communications and quests, helping players manage their game progress and declutter their interface.
Expanding Game Lore: The messaging system will also serve as a platform for expanding the game’s lore and character development.

Upcoming Enhancements

Attachments and Tooltips: The next step is to finalize the attachments for messages and implement new tooltips/popups for better user interaction.
Quest Indicators: We are also focusing on adding new indicators for quest rewards and objectives to make the system more intuitive.

Additional Features in Development

Remote Stash: Plans include a remote stash for critical questing items, as well as a stash for receiving new items, updates, or gifts from the game team and character cast.

Launcher Updates:

UI Redesign: The launcher's interface now reflects the game's aesthetic with updated buttons, backgrounds, colors, fonts, and pop-ups.
New Panels: We've added a server panel showing game version, edition, server status, and launcher version, and a user panel displaying login information.
Visual Notifications: A green 'New Update' sprite alerts you to new versions.
Loading and Settings Improvements: The loading screen has been enhanced for smoother transitions, and UI resolution and scaling have been improved. Terms and Conditions, along with installation and uninstallation options, have been organized into a new settings section.
