7th Heaven Dev Post #5

Hello all my lovelies! Hope you all had a nice week! This one again was productive from an art standpoint and I spent some time making sure future development goes quicker. I even did some writing for what happens after the demo.

Things accomplished this week!

• All character sprites but 2 that are needed for the Demo have placeholder artwork! This artwork is necessary to have in place to get a feel for how the conversations will look like and also serve as a basis for the rigs I'll be making for animation purposes. The Above image is a sample of the current look for most of the main Characters.
• Created a style guide for how I want conversations to go. I want the speaking characters to at the front while the other characters are listening. Just to give added importance to the focus character. Spent a good chunk of time experimenting and arriving at something I like.
• Worked on a few of the Backgrounds needed for the Demo.

Things to accomplish this week.

• ART!!! I want this week to focus heavily on artwork. Backgrounds, sex scenes, UI Elements. Ideally I'd love to have all it done this week but it's a large task so I'm giving myself 2 weeks to complete it.
• More coding. Been having fun coding the conversations with the place holder art. It really is starting to feel like a real game.
• Beefing up none sex scenes text. Something I've noticed while writing is that the sex scene text and dialogue is 4x longer than any other dialogue in the game. I guess I got a little too horny there. So I'm in the process of punching up some of the non sex text and dialogue and adding funny moments.

As it stands right now, I'm still anticipating the Demo to launch in July as planned. Things were slower going than I had originally expected this week. I did a lot of work at the beginning of the week but was unable to get to much artwork as I explored ways to make future development easier.

This is my first game project that I'll be publishing, and it's a learning experience too. I'm not the worst at coding but its definitely not my strong suit. So a lot of effort and research has been put into making sure I don't code myself into holes and make it difficult to implement new features. I already know the costume system is going to be a large obstacle but it's more of an art and animation one from where I'm seeing. 

As it stands my goals are simple.

• Get the base game story, art and feature complete.

After that is complete I'll then  focus on:

• Extra sex scenes
• Extra costumes
• Side quests and Easter Eggs

But for now let's talk about a new character in the game! JACLYN!

Jaclyn is a weapons dealer based in the slums. She's loaded, she's stacked and she's equipped to take on anyone. A badass that knows what she wants and does anything in her power to get it. She's a wholly original character in the game and if you've followed my art escapades before the game development you'll know she's my sexy OC. Of course I'm gonna put my own characters in this game. There's a particularly juicy scene near the end of the Demo involving you and another TBA character. I can't wait to get to drawing the artwork for that!
