7th Heaven Dev post #4

Wow! We're already at post 4! This past week I was away on "assignment" for my day job. Internet access was spotty at best but I did have a chance to get some work done on the game while away.

Things accomplished this week!

• Redesigned characters with a simpler more animation friendly design. Above are the new designs for Tifa, Aerith, Johnny and Elmyra!
• Implemented all the demo text and dialogue into the Engine.
• Proofread a majority of the demo text and paced a large chunk of it.

This weeks goals are going to be mainly art orientated as I gear up to get all the art assets ready to implement into the engine for the demo.

• New placeholder character sprites reflecting the more animation friendly designs.
• Complete a few BGs needed for the demo.
• Tighten up rough posing sketches for Sex scenes.

Things are starting to look good for the Demo. I decided that my initial designs for some of the characters were not going to translate well to animated sprites (too many details/complicated shapes = Harder to create appealing animation). I went with a simpler design that will be INFINITELY easier to rig in Harmony and then eventually animate. ALSO it will be a lot easier to add new costumes to the animated sprites.  I've been spending a good amount of my free time while away exploring these new looks and I'm so much happier and confident in these new designs.

Speaking of new designs! Throughout your masturbatory time in 7th Heaven you'll be playing as Johnny. In the original FF7 Johnny was a minor NPC character that hung around the bar and fantasized about Tifa. Who better to be the main character of a game involving banging Tifa than Johnny.



Also we introduce Elmyra Gainsborough. In the original FF7 she was Aerith's kind adoptive mother. In 7th Heaven Elmyra is a bit more naughty than nice but still very helpful!


I also took another pass on Aerith's design to make it more animation friendly. She also gets bigger boobs becausec boobs rule and this is a porn game.



And finally we have another go at Tifa's new animation friendly design. Can't wait to get this moving!





This week coming up, I'm going to be focusing on art considerably. This is the largest chunk that needs to be completed for the demo. Mainly I want all the character sprites needed for the demo to have their placeholder art done. So expect more art updates in the future.
