Did Captain Podcasts fear over replacement also make him vote for Trump? Seemed to work for the rest of America.

Chris Johnson

If you say it with enough confidence, then it just becomes the proper pronunciation

John Sharter of Marz

I feel like a poser not saying it like that. Like pronouncing Detroit “day-twa.”

Gabrus, Rodgers, and Stanger

For real? From my area it was always Boudreaux and Thibodeaux. If you needed a third one, maybe you would throw in Fontenot

John Sharter of Marz

What was her last name? Maybe we went to highschool together

John Sharter of Marz

New Iberia is cool town. I knew an amazing woman from New Iberia.

Edmund Lewis

I thought they were mostly Chance Boudreaux & Leblanc jokes? Maybe depends on the city or town.

Edmund Lewis

Sammy “The Bull” Gravano tells a story of the mob incident with Steven Rodgers was referring to. Don’t know how legit it is but it’s hilarious nonetheless https://youtu.be/nu3XeWvYAtM?si=36-sa38qXg7Wdepz

RutgerHauerPowerHour

Hope you fellas are holding up okay with all the fires out there

skinnychode69420

Hakama! Mine are around here somewhere…

Cromsicle

I would love a Fight Quest/Human Weapon redux with Gabrus and Diego Lopez. Just traveling the world and exploring cool martial arts. I would just hope they do Savate in France and Bok in Mongolia. I think Gabrus would rock the hell out of each style's traditional attire.

Jack McReynolds

I haven't listened all the way to the end and I haven't checked the comments here but the orderly WAS in Stone Cold! This comment was worth logging into patreon to make.

Zach Henson

You are correct The Cajun accent is ridiculous. That's why it's great.

Chabnormal

Stanger still throwing heaters down the plate

Nolan-Globus

Big “please kiss Stanger” episode for me

Wadi

Shout out the very incompetent hitman with the goatee who repeatedly fails to kill Seagal in the hospital. He was hilarious with his screaming hissy fits to his rage at been constantly beaten by Seagal. The way that he flopped backwards after been finally killed off also looked quite awkward and tough on the knees. He should be in a hall of fame for incompetent action movie henchman.

Wesley Dolan

Huge number of immediately abandoned Stanger bits - strong recommend

John Carpenter's Patreon Commentator

If we’re including honorary ones, then a ton I’m sure!

John Sharter of Marz

Damn that’s crazy. I wonder how many cajun fuckers are floatin around here

Zooby Condarino

😜

Ryan Stanger

The scope for a shotgun is just a flashlight

Chabnormal

I’m from New Iberia, baw

John Sharter of Marz

Most people don’t know what an actual Cajun accent sounds like. Most Louisianians don’t. Most people from south Louisiana can’t do a Cajun accent. Unless you’re from Vermilion parish or somewhere similar.

Zooby Condarino

I’m not familiar, but will research and report back

John Sharter of Marz

Know any good Chance Boudreaux and Thibodeaux jokes?

John Sharter of Marz

That's why he let the shopkeeper die!

Antti

It's Chance Boudreaux, you poseurs!

Antti

Oh and here's one of the best things to come out of Seagal's legacy, a kids book called "Steven Seagull", it's amazing: https://elysdolan.com/steven-seagull-action-hero

Tom Cassady

here's a great expose written by John Connolly for Spy Magazine in 1993: https://archive.org/details/SpyMagazine/Spy%20Magazine%201986-1998/1993/1993-07-JUL-AUG/page/n67/mode/2up haven't read it yet but apparently it goes into him trying to hire a guy to kill the QC journalist. [edit - after reading the article it looks like he tried to pay to have Gary Goldman killed]

Tom Cassady

Gabrus should have John Ganz on H&M.

Edmund Lewis

Would we be old if we all got that Chappell Roan joke?? … I don’t think so.

Edmund Lewis

Let no one mention whatever Dennis Quaid is doing in “The Big Easy”. Pretty sure that accent is a hate-crime against all of southern Louisiana.

Edmund Lewis

STANGER ON FIRE ALL EPISODE!!

David McElroy

Rate that accent in jackrabbit-slapped bears.

Adam Lewis

The Boyz could have a long Shadow Wolves all about Bo Gritz.

Adam Lewis

The GQ article referenced in the episode: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/m2ig8avxj24itm8em04sh/GQ_-Gentlemen-s-Quarterly-1991-03_-Vol-61-Iss-3-_250107_204324.PDF?rlkey=v78tfk6g7grxqcqhycwe02pck&st=57phbnk1&dl=0

Jeremy Smith

Gut (Stone Cold) and Danny are indeed one and the same. Don't second guess yourself, Stanger.

Frank Morris

Uncle Duvet’s verisimilitude is beyond rank

John Sharter of Marz

What about Chance Devereaux’s Uncle Duvet?

Edmund Lewis

ross perot actually didnt have many good ideas. mentioned it in an earlier post, but i think the boyz and listeners would really enjoy reading When The Clock Broke. there’s some wild missing in action type shit in it.

Brendan Crowley

Let’s be honest, we’re both Chappell Roan guys anyway

Ryan Stanger

1:59:40, it's just the way you say they have an interesting sound, after that you sound like a young man. Thanks Boyz. To be clear I'll be 40 in March, I'm right behind you.

FiddlersGreenDay

Something like "they've got an... interesting sound" or something. Reminded me of my dad. Which makes sense, you're a dad! ❤️

FiddlersGreenDay

Unrelated; when Rogers say “Cajun” it often sounds like he’s saying “K-Asian”

John Sharter of Marz

I will admit that I have never lived in Florida, but I have lived in Southwest Louisiana my whole life. My expert Cajun accent rating is as follows : Casey Ryback < Chance Devereaux < Ryan Stanger < Channing Tatum < Mike Michell

John Sharter of Marz

How's the glass?

munrets

HELL YEAH

Will See

What an erudite review of Seagal.

munrets

I can’t even remember what I said about them 😅

Ryan Stanger

We had this Smurfs glass from Pizza Hut that was our Dad's favorite. It was a sad day when it broke

Fan_of_giants_420_69

Such a funny episode. O’Malley complimenting Storm over and over was a real highlight. I got to the end and immediately started the High & Mighty episode — it’s been a wild ride! Love you, boyz!

Morgan Currie

Stanger talking about System Of A Down is maybe the first time he's sounded a little "old man" to me. Sorry Stang, love you.

FiddlersGreenDay

I'm not going to link to it, because it might be considered 🏴‍☠️, but the issue is on annas archive, search for GQ 1991

Trentin Quarantino

I would pay for an Action Boyz tour of Los Angeles.

taekmountain

I did some Aikido it's a very fun martial art. You learn a lot about using the opponents mass and momentum against them to flip them over or put them on their back. It's a pretty gentle martial art but it has some great joint locks. That being said I also think it's one of those ones that only really work if your opponent sort of goes along with what you are doing so I certainly wouldn't be busting it out proactively in a fight. I'd actually just run away. Just look at the Segal videos of him 'fighting' six guys if you want a good example. It's really Zen as well.

Rhinn

I’ve stayed at the Bonaventure a few times, and there’s a placard commemorating the specific elevator that Arnold uses in True Lies. Last time I stayed was probably 3 years ago, and the brut architecture is great but you encounter things that remind you the hotel is way past its heyday. The most glaring I remember is that the entrance to check in used to be an arching stream of water that you walked under, and now you just walk over a thick stripe of mildew carpet where they gave up on it. The whole place has a certain Bladerunner quality at this point.

Conor Hunter

I had a feeding tube for 7 days and could only start back with liquids the first day then crackers the 2nd, but I’m not Segal.

Jeremy Aylesworth

My second favorite Mangione !

C Monty Burns

The observation that he didn't pay for the champagne or the monkey? *chef's kiss*

David D.

I had to find the Warner Bros. 75th Anniversary Collection promo with the Seagal jump scare. Here it is: https://youtu.be/ovBWGwZI6q4?si=ALSQsx8Qp6wTbceG

Jenn

Zombie squad ep on Lawman would be awesome. First episode is incredible with SS being told to be quiet by a real cop.

Luke Jacobs

I could have sworn they covered this movie but it was a 2016 HIGH AND MIGHTY episode with all 3 talking about it. So I gave that one a re-listen. It’s funny to listen to the new one and older one back to back.

Paul Perez

Awesome thank you!

Oldmancoyoteface

yeah teeth breaking inside your mouth makes the outside look like you sucked off the new Hulk

bloodflart

Shout out to the terrifyingly rusty Fantasy Island on Grand Island, lol.

Filthy Phillips

Sean Hutchinson

Having no idea what Seagal's been up to in Russia or for the last 15 years at all, it was really great to learn about the watermelons and giant carrots photos. Good shit, happy new year ActionBoyz.

Game That Tune

Actually Actionboyz when he sticks the shotgun in his mouth he does it so hard it breaks his teeth of course.

John McClane

You senator! Sunny Storm 😂

John McClane

I watch the sizzle reel of that idiot running 2 times a day minimum

Jeff Wanless

I love that after snapping bones and beating the shit out of three punks in a liquor store robbery, Mason Storm chills out in his car to the smooth, smooth sound of Chuck Mangione’s “Feels So Good.”

Nathan Rodriguez

We're all in michigan. He would have been fine if they didn't leave for godless California when steven was young.

ko

Have your supervisors tell them they did a GREAT job of instilling righteousness and values in him

Michael Daniels

My supervisor's parents were friends with Steven's godparents in Michigan.

ko

Seagal should've gone full shaved head after he made The Glimmer Man in 1996, or even after Fire Down Below in 1997—it would've been huge for him. NYPD Blue and Sipowicz started the ball rolling on leads in the 90s being partially bald, but there wasn't a full bald action icon yet. Bruce Willis was still trying some hair with Fifth Element, The Jackal, Armageddon. Vin Diesel wasn't popping yet, Statham was still a ways away, The Rock didn't go full bald until 2010. For all the Big Johns out there doing a pony tail, there's even more bald dads that would've been way on board with a bald Seagal resurgence. Weird dark black goatee and wrap-arounds would fit even better.

Gwildor Sold Me Nuke

lol im sure this has been pointed out, but its funny everytime the Boyz do a Seagal I think they've already done it, and i check whatever dumb name he has in the movie. Like, there's no way they haven't talked about Mason Storm already XD. Love tha action boyz!! I'm the rodgers of my friend group.

Seth B

Someone made this list on goodreads a while back, I'm not sure if it's updated at all https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/162873.The_Action_Boyz_Library

Jared Niles

Niagara peninsula (CDN) guy here -- Grand Island NY had a great little waterpark we visited every year; it and Crystal Beach really hard-installed some '80s theme park nostalgia on me. If, like Rodgers, you have a love of abandoned stuff, Crystal Beach pics are chock full of Fallout-style vibes: https://aphan.ca/crystalbeach.php, or http://www.forgottenbuffalo.com/forgottenbuffalolost/crystalbeach.html

eponymouse_ponymouse

https://www.reddit.com/r/ActionBoyz/comments/1hv4aci/screenshot_from_hard_to_kill_1990/ this is the origin story for me now

bloodflart

Wrecked is a great show, thanks for the reminder. You can't find it anywhere online (except🏴‍☠️). Maybe it'll come back to streamers.

John Hood

Stanger's right, kittens ARE cute!

Dark Angel Of The Year

You… you do love us 🫶🏻

Horace Jallowman

O Malley is also in Marked for Death and the genesis for an extended titty fucking but which I have saved as a voice note

Phil Landry

Superior attitude. Superior state of mind.

Eugenio Triana

Girl if I ever go full coma you know I want you to keep me looking like a spanish conquistador

SJ Masterton

it's a great mental picture especially if you ever got the wind knocked out of you

bloodflart

Is there a ABZ books rec’s list anywhere? I loved All my Friends are going to be Strangers

Oldmancoyoteface

Have heard them so many times now but I love when Rodgers tells the story about the Martial Arts expert in High School and the Stanger story where the guy’s friend actually did know Karate and kicked their ass 😂. True Classics.

PatrickKilbrogan

I saw this one in the theatre. Before the movie started a local Aikido school did a live demonstration in which the teacher literally beat the shit out of some guy named Rusty for about 15 minutes. Me and my friends still talk about it as the greatest theater going experience ever.

Dan

I did Aikido for 2 years in my 20s, it’s kind of like professional wrestling mixed with Tai Chi and Japanese language lessons. Being able to do the moves and take the moves is equally important. I really enjoyed it and it’s a great workout, particularly when you get pretty good and can flip and roll around on the mat, but definitely not super functional for fighting. I also did BJJ and and Thai kickboxing but moved off them because I just am not very competitive and preferred the Aikido routine. Gabrus should try it. You do have to memorize a lot of moves and Japanese names. Advancing ranks comes with tests where they basically call stuff out to you and you have to demo moves on other students. At a certain rank you get those cool black pants with your gi. Sadly I didn’t stick long enough for that.

John Dickhoff

Speaking of ‘80’s vhs - Anyone’s parents have a Reggie Vision?

Hammerthrust Von Sexron

Mason Storm is also the name of a MILF pornstar from back in the day, which adds a great layer to this film.

Michael Daniels

This is maybe the funniest of all the "classics" to me. O'Malley is so funny. He loves Mason and his son so goddamn much. We all had a good time watching this one in the village, lots of laughs. Big up all the Daikinis and Nelwyns in 2025.

Burglekutt

“HEY! YOU WOKE ME UP! YOU’RE THE ONE THEY WANTED!”

jnortie

Fun fact: the dog who played Wolfie was actually part of the K-9 unit that failed to detect the explosives used in the ‘96 Olympic Park bombing. This is covered extensively in the epilogue to Richard Jewell.

C Monty Burns

Rodgers's story telling skills are unsurpassed.

OH HAY IT'S THE ACTION BOYZ CAN I PLAY
